Canadian DCFs Waiting for Interview in Montreal

Can you say what types of financial documents they asked you for?

Just the I-864 and 2009 tax transcript.

Sorry guys I was not able to reply back to this thread.

Our flight was delayed and we went home late.

I had to report back to work early Wednesday plus prep for my kid to school its been crazy.....

Well in addition to what i said, yes we were given the letter to comply and provide a co-sponsor to submit 1-864 with 2009 tax transcript.

I was confident before I went to the interview that I can demonstrate our financial is way above the poverty line as my assets seem to show but since my USC hubby has zero income for the past year they still need me to sign a co-sponsor. I told him that I have no relatives and he said does not need to be a family member, it can be a friend.

This is now taken cared of after I phone my husband so anytime once I got their docs from the US I will mail it to the embassy together with the passport.

Question to those with similar circumstances ( after this new change in Sept 2010) who have to comply with this before they hot their Visa? How long does it take after we mailed the requirements before we receive our visa ?

Because I never did receive my packet #4 (now sent 7 weeks ago), is there anyone that let me know what the letter in the packet says, just so I can make sure that I am not caught off guard at my interview.

I just wanted to thank you, I called Medisys (where I am having my medical) and they will accept my first letter with my file number on it and also said to bring a copy of the paper showing my interview time. They basically just don't want people coming in for medicals before they have done the paperwork. Thank you for giving me that bit of information, you have taken much stress off of me !

That's awesome, glad I could help.

The P4 letter just says the consulate has completed the review of the IV case, you are now ready for an interview, then has the instructions for the website to go and book your date, the fees (they accept credit card), and the documents you need to bring (same as what was on the P3 checklist). Also contains instructions for booking your medical.

Nothing you haven't already read. I think you should be ok with your P3 and your interview printout.

At either of your interviews, did they ask for more marriage proof

other than marriage certificate (ie, photos, plane tickets, trips, etc)?

Nope, I think just talking to the CO negated the need for extra documentation. She just asked how long we'd been together, how long married, etc. It wasn't really questioning, it was more like chatting.

While I realize I am invading a thread which has very little to do with DCF or my situation in specific, I am hoping someone here can help me out.

I am currently working in the US applied for consular processing at Montreal. This is an EB2(employment based visa) case. My case was approved at NVC on Oct 7 2010. They have told me that I now have to wait for them to schedule me an interview at Montreal. Judging from the timeline shown here for Montreal I am guessing I still have a ways to go for the interview stage. Can anyone point me to an interview/timeline tracker that would apply to me? Does it matter or do you think the timeline for montreal is the same regardless of the type of case?

Second I posted a question in the main forum area but then got to thinkin that yall can probably help me out a bit more specifically, so here goes;

I am currently freaking out. My step dads girlfriend had insisted on being our Joint sponsor to bring my husband Canadian citizen to the US. Our interview is scheduled for December 9th, 2010. Problem is my dads girlfriend was lying as being our joint sponsor and is now jerkin my chain about all this stuff she has to do before she can send me the I-864. (she was tryin to get close to my step dad....but anyway). I have gotten my real dad to agree to be joint sponsor but now Im super in the DARK. I will be getting a lease signed saying we will live with my dad and my stepmom and their 4 children. How much does my dad need to make in order to be joint sponsor? (my step mom doesnt work). Also what form do they fill out as he will be a household member as well as joint sponsor. Thanks soooo much for any help anyone can provide!

Has anyone who had an October interview received their passport or visa back from DHL yet... They gave me a letter saying 3 days but we still have not received it and it`s been almost a week.

I did have mine in hand by the 25th. However, some other people on the Canada forum have waited up to 2 weeks after interview for it to arrive. It seems quicker, but not consistent. You should hopefully have it in hand by the end of this week.
