“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Thanks everyone.

I can't scan in the stuff but I will try to type it in over the weekend in parts. I don't mind. I type almost 100wpm so if you ignore some typos I'll do my best to get it all in over the weekend.

I have to get a new address now. I'm in Plan B mode.

I will share whatever I have and will type in stuff over the weekend. I have a couple of friends coming up to visit but will get to it before the weekend is up

thanks everyone

birdned, I dont' think that can apply any longer (the checklist above link)

It says you can't schedule a medical till you get a note in e-mail. It seems that now you have to wait till after you send in the 230 and they will contact you and then you go get a medical and then you can make the appt on line. so you have maybe 6 weeks judging from time frame to get the appt.

I will type in what I got and you can see what it says. And on line too I think it says that when you register at the site.

What's bothering me is the DHL thing. I have to drive 45 min to use the DHL, that's just crazy to me.

Wow,

I go on vacation for a few weeks and everything is changed here. Congrats to all those who have interviews scheduled. I'm truly happy for all of you and it's great to hear that Montreal is rolling along a bit.

Take care,

- Sam

To those who just received their packet 3's, there is already a link to the checklist on the wiki here: P3 checklist

Sorry, I meant to say that some people are freaking out about there not being a checklist in the new P3s, so I just posted the link so they could see what the checklist looks/looked like.

One thing is clear - you should not schedule an interview until you are eligible (i.e. have received notification that your case is complete, or has been logged). Sure, you can schedule one in the new system, but it doesn't know if you are eligible or not. So you could walk up to the consulate on the day of your choosing, but if they aren't finished with your paperwork, you won't be let in.

Petitioner = the USC (they filed the I-130 petition), Beneficiary = CAN (you are benefitting from the petition)

5 photos works out to 3 for the medical, 2 for the interview. I paid $6.99 per pair from Costco (cheapest I've seen).

Hi birdnerd,

I'm one of the Canadian citizens who's been mildly depressed and waiting seemingly forever for this process to get moving to be reunited with my husband. Now it's moving for everyone, which is great! When it rains, it pours.

I have a few questions for you:

1. I called the DoS yesterday, and they said packet 4 was mailed to me "this week", but I have yet to receive it in the mail. I called Seiden and Associates in Toronto to schedule my medical appointment, but they wouldn't schedule unless I have the packet 4 information in my possession. Do you recommend waiting until that arrives to schedule my medical?

2. On the US Visa service website where we can schedule the appointment in Montreal, I go to the login page, and the first thing it asks for is the passport number, date of birth, and nationality "using information in the applicant's passport". Who is the applicant in this case? Is it my USC husband, or me the Canadian citizen beneficiary?

More importantly, if we enter the wrong one, does the system have a feature to inform us that we should actually be entering the information of the other spouse?? If not, might we go through the entire process entering the wrong person's name, only to find out our mistake when we get to the Montreal interview?

3. I tested out the service yesterday using my own information (Canadian passport number, etc), and it listed October 26 or 27 as the earliest appointment date, which won't work for me. As I proceeded through the screens, I got scared that I would inadvertently be confirming that date for my interview. Is there eventually a screen that lets us choose from a list of dates?

Thanks for being the unofficial organizer of the Canadian DCFs for these past several months.

Hi If you dont mind my answers:

ANS; You need to wait for P4 as it contains the MTLXXXXXXcase number and the letter is then presented to the Seiden and Associates in Toronto.

ANS: It is all about you, as an applicant, your husb is a petitioner. So enter your passport number and add other family members if you have kids.

It is important that you have to add them first before you get a date confirmed.

ANS: After you've gone through entering the passport no, you will also confirm the DHL location once you hit a date is presented, in which in my case its October 26. When I hit submit i get a logon screen, however I noticed that this maybe a glitch so I called the number in toronto( pick which one applies to you)

OK HERE WE GO...

Thank GOD, we called DOS today and they confirmed "we are eligible for an interview" and that P4 has been sent to us this week (in the mail, and that we should get it soon). We asked if we can do self-booking for an interview date, she said "I think so" but she seemed a bit new so could not answer the question with 100% certainty (but at the back of our mind we were already thinking of other VJ'ers who have done this already).

Sooo, we went online and tried to self-book... and we got a similar screen to what TAURUSlady was getting... AFTER we enter passport info, confirm our CITY for DHL, say "CONTINUE" to the first available date, it takes us to another screen with URL:

https://www.usvisa-info.com/en/account/login

Here, it asks for a username/password etc... which we don't have. Now, based on what TAURUSLADY is saying, apparently we can call 1 of the consulate phone numbers and they will confirm that all is confirmed on their systems? Because certainly, the screens I am seeing DOES NOT confirm that the "first available date" is "confirmed" for me but that it is simply the "first available date available to me"....

So some confusion there...

TAURUS, shall we call 1 of the numbers you listed on your last post and ask them to confirm that our apparent "first available date" is indeed when we should walk into the consulate? What is this thing about the login name/password, is that a glitch for sure or should we have a name/password?

EITHER WAY, we are very thankful to God and happy that things have progressed!!!!! HIGH FIVE to everyone here and hang in there folks!!!!

NOW, we will need first hand accounts of all of you SEPTEMBER interviewees with whether you get approved on your DOMICILE proofs or not, what to say, what not to say, how to lock-in the domicile intentions etc.... :)

TTYL.......

Oh, I should also ask, what did you guys choose for "TYPE OF VISA" when doing the self-schedule booking?

I picked "Permanently Immigrate to the US (Ready to Schedule)". Is this the right one?? Is this why I am getting the login screen and everytime I go back to ths site it still tells me "no appointments are currently scheduled, what would you like to do next?" and then gives me the option to schedule in the 1st available date... which ultimately takes me to that login screen which I mentioned above...

Should I try to click on the "forgot password" link at the login screen to see if I can have a password mailed to me? How do I know what my login should be (if any)..

Thx, Choles

AM/CAN, I'm so sorry. I don't know what to tell you. I live here, filed in person and it took 9 weeks.

So I'm guessing Calgary had to send it to Montreal so that's probably why it's taking a bit longer for you.

I hope it comes soon.

To everyone else good luck.

I know I got the new packet 3 and it says not to schedule medical till they tell me when we are ready to make an interview appointment.

I will type in the info I got tomorrow morning sometime

I think you are on the wrong site - the link you posted is not where I ended up when I booked my appointment.

Try this link: http://usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/login

I followed this link and it's prompts with no problem. Just to confirm it worked, I called the 514# and it confirmed it for me. I didn't have any troubles...

Wish you luck!

I picked that category too and didn't have a problem... I'm not sure why you are running into that login screen... I never came across it during my process...
