Hi, I have an update. I got the packet 3 letter??? Is that what it is called.

It says I have to go to the website or call to proceed. I have a case # now. It talks about the pics and the rest of what will be required documetns, docmile, support etc. But I got my case # YiPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I will call the # and proceed and give updates. If you don't hear from me, it's because I have not done anything so nothing to report.

I say this because as anxious as I am to move back to the USA, since my business deal fell through I now need to find a place to live in the US.

Thank you all for being there for me. I feel better with the case # now. Also if I have to give DH passport now, I can't. I need to go to the USA for a medical checkup and I've booked a weekened away too so he needs his passport. So he needs his passport till at least november.

How does it work?? Do you have to give up the passport right away or only at the interview.

Thanks again everyone. Good luck to all

Congrats Housewife. I was wondering if you could give us a little info on what ya got in the P3. I was under the impression that is just the request for the DS230 and a checklist saying you have everything on the list. I applied about a week before you and still havent gotten anything yet so now that you got yours Im getting a little anxious. Thanks and congrats again.

housewife - you only leave your passport with consular staff at the end of the visa interview, it's in your possession until then. Congrats on your I-130 approval. :) Remember to update your timeline.

So, my fellow DCFers, I have scheduled my interview.

I called DoS today, had them confirm what they told my husband yesterday - p4 letter prepared/sent Sept 9, for a self-scheduled interview. I also confirmed that there's no confirmation code or such included in the p4 that would prevent us from scheduling now, she said no, you can go ahead and schedule (because our file is ready, as in 'eligible for interview').

So I did!!

Btw, when I checked last night, first date available was Oct 19. When I booked today, it was Oct 20.

Next step - waiting for a call back from Seiden clinic (TO) for instructions on how to book a medical with this new system - before, you used to have to present your p4 letter with interview date on it in order to book the medical.

The cancellation/reschedule deadline appears to be one day before your booked interview date, FYI.

Minus the bugs in the programming, I'm liking this new system. :D

I'll keep you all updated if anything changes.

THANK YOU for the information! I went ahead and scheduled my interview too since they prepared my P4 on Sept 9 as well. Figured what the hell? The earliest they have now is Monday Oct 25.

My interview is October 27th at 8:30!! WOO HOO!!!

Congrats birdned on the interview date.

Am/Can

I will give you what I can now, and if you have questions feel free to ask as I am a bit tired.

It says to go to a website to find out what you have to do to continue processing and you need passport #, case# date of birthand visa catagory (this is for the person immigrating info) and for each applicant to do this.

Not to schedule an interview at this time until the consular section reviewed the case once registered you go to a link to complete and return to the immigrat visa unti the prequired app forms and checklist of documents to gather via DHL courier. DHL is free and only available in Canada and you choose your DHL courrier location on the website

You ahve to include an e-mail addy and they will send you via e-mail when the case has been reviewed how to request an interview through a website. When that has been scheduled they give you the info how to proceed with medical.

It also gives info about the pics needed, amount, size, AOS intent to marry (if aaplicalicable, evidence of domicle, what documents like birth certificate, the rest is pretty much what has been talked about here. The rest as I say is documents requried and if you want specifics just ask me.

I think from what I gather it's beening changed and made faster and esasier through the net, but I could be wrong.

I'm not sure how to update my timeline, I added something in comments adn I will post again when i do the submission.

I will probably go to the website tomorrow and see what is required. I wasn't up to it today.

I hope this helps everyone. BTW, again, my letter was dated Sept. 7th and I received it today and I live in Montreal.

Birdned, thanks I can't give up DH passport as I need it for him to travel to the USA with me for my healthcare checkups.

Thanks to everyone for being so supportive of me. If I can help I'm here just ask questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

Good luck to everyone.

Sorry to be a pain in the neck Housewife, but Im confused by the paragraph emboldened. So are you saying that now the DS230 and checklist are completed online? Or what is the online part? Bc at this stage if I understand correctly you dont have to send anything in other than the DS230 and the checklist (obviously). I guess I just dont understand what the link you refer to is for? Sorry and thanks again for at least giving me some sense of a heads up. I am HOPING I get my P3 soon but we live way out here in Calgary so it could be a bit longer:(

Hi Am/Can, you are NOT a pain, no worries.

I don't know honestly. I'm going to look at the website in a bit and I'll report back here later.

I honestly don't have the answers for you yet. The letter said to go to the website to proceed and see what else you have to do and choose your DHL city. It says if you go to the website, you will det information online or via telephone concerning the next steps you must take to pursue the application for US immigrant visa at the US Consulate in Montreal.

You need a case #, passport number, visa catagory date of birth, nationality for each applicant and all family members including chilren. and it tells you how to follow the prompts.

I will report back more.

to all those with interview days, big congrats. I'm thrilled for you.

I am back. I am so confused I don't know what to do.

I registered. It gives 3 choices for the "permanently immigrate). One for fiance, one for schedule by NVC one for divers and one for something else.

None fit me. We are married. but the only close one is the fiance the other is when you are ready to schedule an appt and it clearly says in my letter not to schedule an appt.

You choose a DHL courrier service closet to you. Ok, did that. then you get to a place that goes on about what you need to have etc.

In the letter it says to go to another website which I did. There you have to find what you are looking for and I finally found something about Pkt 3 but I'm still not sure where or what I have to send.

I don't see any checklist to print and send. I see nothing. I'm up a creek without a paddle.

I registered as best I could but who knows what is what. I'm at a loss. I have no clue what to do.

I am so confused I'm going to cry. It says in the letter to follow the link to compete and return to the innigrant visa IV unit the required application forms and checklist of docs and return it via DHL but I have no clue where that IV unit is or where to find the info. I'm so lost and so confused and I am not a stupid person.

Choles and Leonsgal - you guys should be eligible for this new process, too. I suggest you call DoS and find out if they've prepared/mailed your P4, because if so you can book an appointment. From what I can tell, dates are filling up very quickly. :)

oh and it says on the website or somewhere in the letter that they now inform you via e-mail that you provide about scheduleing an appt. for interview

Well the best I can see is that you register for the DHL and you go to courrier service and print out a form and put in the ID # you get when you register and you send back the 230 and checklist although I'm not sure where you get the checklist from but you send it back via DHL etc.

Well I would say your choice would be permanently immigrate...as thats what IV is. Also I was reading on some other Candian portals that they are not having a checklist now. Ill try to find the link when I get home from work in about three hours and let ya know but you could probly scroll through them as well. Keep fingers and toes crossed for me to get my P3 today:) Good luck housewife.

Of course I do Am/Can and for everyone here. Fingers and toes crossed big time for everyone. Also keep in mind I live in Montreal. Letter dated Sept. 7th and I just got it yesterday so it may take a few extra days Am/Can for Montreal.

I also get the feeling they held back till after the 1st so that the new changes/measures could be utilized.

That's the problem there is 4 "permanently immigrate choices" None apply to me.

But I think I can go and change that once NVC or who ever approves and sends me the "schedule an interview".

From what I gather, you can't get the medical till you schedule the interview or at the time they tell you you can.

Meaning DH can't go get his medical now. He has to wait till he is given further instructions,.

Now if you go to the link to the montreal consulate website and find the link for pkt 3 it says checklist but where you find this is beyone me.

I don't even know about the 230 form. I'm really at a loss.

I figure I'll fill out the 230 form send it in via DHL and print a checklist if I find one and hope for the best.

I really am at a loss I'm going to cry.

it also says once you submit the forms (whatever those are so far I can only see a ds230) please allow 6 weeks for a case review.

Then they notify by e-mail to go to the website and schedule an interview and what to do about the medical.

So I guess if I count that they are giving appts about 6 weeks from now and if I could send back today which I can't. another 6 weeks. so maybe 3 months??? who knows
