I pose a question. Lets assume for a second that the US budget authority falls on each individual tax payer. How do you think taxes would be allocated?

By this I mean the following:

Lets say your federal tax ends up at 10,000 USD. As a part of filing your return you must allocate the money to different departs as you see fit. For instance, you might allocate 3,000 to the military, 1,000 to education etc.

Where might imbalances occur do you think?

I would study the current year appropriations bill, after it was signed, before making this decision on 'where it goes'.

If I saw any pork projects or other silliness, I would make sure not to allocate funds to 'that' department, allocating funds to other departments.

It's 'fun' to 'find the pork' each year - makes for great 'night time reading' material, as well.

I did read each year, for about 10 years, stopped 2 years ago.

I guess my point really is - I wouldn't make a decision until I read the appropriations bill, and then , only then, can I make an 'informed decision', as well.

IMO, impossible to forecast 'imbalances', as this could get partisan, really quickly.

But I like the idea, ah ? Put yer money, literally, where yer mouth is !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
