 Just got off the phone with USCIS. They still haven't mailed our package to the NVC. Our NOA2 was August 3rd, so that means they have been sitting on it for one week already! How hard is it to put a package in the mail? The rep told me it can take up to two weeks for them to mail it out. That's a load of bullcrap, but I'm sure in our case, with my luck, they'll wait the full two weeks before mailing the blasted thing!

Anyway, for those of you who have recently gotten NOA2 but haven't had receipt at the NVC...well, there's their answer.

Anyone else in the same boat?

YES, I am in the same boat.

But I avoid being a pesk and calling them to find out something that I know already because I call the automated line at the NVC and I still don't have a case number.

I swear, to me it is just common sense. We all have personally experienced what it is like when we are doing something and someone keeps asking "is it ready yet?" "Are we there yet?" "How much longer?"

I bet the average employee at the USCIS has been doing this for 10 years or more. I can imagine that they have established some sort of system, or routine that they are comfortable with. WE may not be, but they are. For example...maybe they send mail to NVC on Fridays, because that is when they have 2 full bags of mail, stuffed in envelopes, stamped, and bundled together, which saves a little money and the people at NVC like it that way. Now, this is just hypathetical, but I think you can see where I'm going.

AND...for the last 10 years, they have process hundreds of thousands of applications and very rarely does anyone call and say thank you. But, every day at least 1000 people call and ask "is it done yet? Did you mail it?" And they look in the system and see it's been 8 days since approval, and they tell everyone to wait 30 days before they call because they know that 99% will make it before 30 days, but, this person is calling and then another and then another...same same...10 years. HMmmmmm...maybe that is why they have only one phone number.

If you got bitched at every single day, would that make you work faster, or slower?

I'm just asking...you know...because I have an application that I need completed as well.

I know I'm ranting....but geeeez....think about it. R U helping or hurting the cause?

Ouch...guess I'm hurting the cause according to your perspective. I surely hope that is not the case, but after 7 months of separation from my fiancee, I am eager to keep on top of our status. If that causes anyone any sort of negative impact, then I am truly sorry...just trying to survive this process without going insane.

Good luck with yours.
