I heard this rumor that Chavez was offering classes to Middle-Easterners for how to fake a Hispanic accent several years ago. It was before I moved back to the US. I remember discussing it with my Venezuelan friends. They were sure it was true. Me, not so much. I wouldn't put it past Chavez, but it just seems to depend on too many variables to be a viable plan. But, who knows.

I have heard the rumor a few years ago as well, but it was under a different context than the current one. When I initially heard it, it was under the guise of fostering more interaction between their governments and their cintizenry.

Interesting. When I heard it, this was around the time that Chavez was reaching out to nations beyond South America. He was trying to establish himself as a regional leader, or a regional representative and was trying to foster more international contact.

I do think that the suggestion is far fetched, but I cannot dismiss it out of hand as absurd.

it has been documented by border patrol. they have guys in lock-up that came to USA from iran in past on student visas and were caught crossing the border and claimed to be mexican, even having mexican documents. trouble is, they still had the same finger prints...

Ah yes, i know the pains of a stringent firewall/internet filter. Lucky for me, mine today is allowing youtube. So to recap, she is saying that Iran and Venezuela are working together. Iran is sending some of it's terrorists to Iran to learn how to speak spanish, learn the mannerisms and customs of hispanic culture for the specific purpose of coming to the U.S. through Mexico to infultrate the U.S.. Because they could camoflauge themselves as hispanics, they would not raise suspision of their plans.

Lucky for me I am wealthy (come to think of it, it isn't LUCK at all) and work only a few hours a week to make an obscene profit. I also use my own computer and look at whatever I want because if my employer doesn't like it, I will tell him to kiss my @ss.

But for those of you who are still trying to fake it until you make it...who cares what she says? It would be a lot easier to enforce our borders if we ended the economic incentive for people to com ehere to WORK. Ie., punish the employers. Then we could easily nab any Arabs posing as Mexicans.

teaching them Spanish will assure they remain a bankrupt 3rd world country, though, we should go with that.

Engineering consulting. I am semi retired, which means, basically, I can make plenty in 20-25 hours per week to just do I want the rest of time. Today is hot, so I will take the boys to Huntington Gorge for swimming and cliff jumping. I make my own schedule also and never start before 10am. Oh #######, Rob & Mel, that means "scientific stuff", you know, that stuff you said I don't like.

Poverty sucks, try to avoid it.

Yes, I'm doing my best. I can't imagine what it must be like to be old and only have a salary of 55K. I'd probably kill myself since that's what we were paid straight out of college over a decade ago.
