Congrats to all who are moving forward.

Still no NOA2. We filed over four months ago. No Request for Evidence either. Very frustrated and distraught.. our plans for the Fall are falling apart.

Since we want to move together this Fall. Does anyone know if it is possible to apply for a different Visa or to cancel the K1 Visa and apply for something else (like an au pair visa) so we can live together. I am very aware that it is illegal for us to marry on a non k1 visa..

Thanks for your help in advance.

Consider all the options first before thinking of stopping the k1 process. Call USCIS; if you don't get an answer, write to your Congressperson! USCIS officers have to answer to a Congressperson's inquiry in 48 hours...There have been so many cases that got approved just days after the Congressperson intervened. Good luck and hope you'll give us good news soon!

I think you are still within the window of when they say it will be completed. Be patient and make the call to the information number. That person will just check on the status of your case online, just like they can do, but they might have some additional information regarding the service center your case is at.

I have been through this process twice. The first time it took nine months and the second it took only four months. So hang in there a little longer. Once it is out of the service center it moves much faster.

Hey Jonny, I'm in the same boat as you. We had our NOA1 on 3/22. And since then? Absolutely nothing, not even a touch. We're going through the CSC. I tried calling the CSC, but they basically said don't bother us until after 5 months. The processing time is currently being quoted at 5 months for CSC. I think its the same for yours (VSC). My plan is to wait the full 5 months (another 5 weeks for me), and then I'm going to call and write a letter to my congressman every day until something is done.

It's completely insane to me that some people get their NOA2 under 2 months and others have to wait a ridiculous amount of time. So I feel your frustration, maybe more so. But strategically, I think it would be a mistake to cancel your K1 now. You've waited too long. You'll effectively be starting from scratch. I think its better to wait until you're outside the processing window, and then maybe we can actually get some answers.

Don't you love our hard-earned tax money being put to use so effectively?

A K-1 visa is not a mandatory requirement to get married in the USA... whatever gives you that idea?

YMMV
