Somebody said I need a roundtrip ticket to show immigration she can return to Philippines???? TRUE or False?

Any special line for her at immigration in LAX or same procedure as me...a USA Citizen?

How long does her Immigration usually take? Scheduling connecting flights ???

I know this will get moved....this new site confusing...cant find my old posts to get answers...

You can buy one way ticket, No need for round trip unless you can purchase it cheaper than one-way. I only bought one way ticket from the Philippines when my fiancee flew to the states back this past May. She will have no problems with immigrations. Many others on VJ have done the same thing from previous post.

She will need to go through non-citizen line unless they allow her to go through US citizen line with you. Doesn't hurt to ask!!

Depends upon how many immigrants they are processing at the airport upon your arrival. Could take 30 minutes to 4 hours.

My wife's (then fiancee)point of entry was Guam the airport is empty at the arrival time there late night, They processed her in about 30 minutes.

Ticket does not need to be return, as you are traveling with intention to live there.

As far I know she could go in GC and Citizen line, but normally there is someone who guides you which line to go, and normally when they see the envelope, they guide you to GC/Citizen line.

I personally would only choose the "US Citizens" line if I was a US citizen. Hence the assignment US citizens (as a qualifier) instead of US citizens and those who wish they were US citizens. No need to p*ss of the CBP officer at the POE for no good reason other than saving a few minutes. I find that logic, actually, despite the fact that not many things make sense when it comes to immigration in general.

People who are not US citizens go to the "others" line, often designated the "Visitors" line. Parties traveling together stay together, so the party always uses the lowest denominator, meaning if one person who is not a US citizen has to go into a line for "others," the USC stays with them, unless otherwise directed. Oftentimes CBP officer direct traffic, more so if there's lot of it, and it won't hurt to ask.

Worked for my USC wife and myself like a charm so far.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

It's usually best to check with the airlines (whichever) website. It's an expensive time of year to fly so there won't really be any DEALS to speak of. I used Kayak this last time and did pretty well for a one way ticket. I'm sure she'll be directed when she get's to immigration in LA so she won't have to figure that out. It took Merlaine quite a while in Detroit to get through the POE stuff but they had two international flights land at the same time. Like was previously posted here, I'd allow at least 3 hours between connecting flights. It took Merlaine 2 hours leaving us an hour before we flew home.
