Hello all. I had to call and file a service question on my wife's I-751. Her I-797 receipt date is 05/12/2010. Up till now she hasn't received her appointment for her biometrics. Today I tried to look at her applications status online using the receipt number and the website said it was not found. I tried the same thing on the phone and it said not found. I talked to a helpful agent and he said the same thing, not found. It's lost! Now I can't call them back for 45 days! UGGGG I'm stressing about this. Any thoughts?

On a maybe/maybe not related note, last year around June 2009, she got a biometrics appointment letter in the mail for no reason (she already had her biometrics). I called the USCIS and I did what they advised. I mailed the notice back and told them my wife doesn't have any open application at the moment and that the appointment was probably made in error. I also send them a copy of her greencard. I told them if the biometrics was really necessary to mail back and reschedule. Never heard from them.

VJ, tell me everything is going to be ok.

if you are trying to know the status of your application either online or with USCIS on the phone you will not succed with just the I-797 notice. Of course they would tell you that nothing was found under that receipt number, this is because you have to wait for the biometrics appointment notice that contains the real number of your case.

I am sure everything is going to be ok!

As I look at may 2010 filers timeline I see that a lot of people have not receive the bio appointment letter yet.

Good look and be positive, they are just being slow, probably because the ASC are busy:-)

Oh OK, thanks. Now that I think about it, when I called the USCIS, the service request that the agent filed was for not receiving the biometrics yet. He said we should have received it within 30 days of receiving the notice of action. I probably should have checked VJ first before calling..
