Hi!

I wanted to know a few things regarding Police Clearence in Mumbai India.

When I went to ask for a police clearence should I get it from passport office or from crime branch because the procedures for both are different? Bad ews it it can take upto 45 days for either of them.

Also in India, to recieve a Police Clearence Certificate(PCC) do we need any letter or proof to ask them to give us the PCC or any one can go and apply for PCC? I am asking about Mumbai PCC since my spouse is in Mumbai India. Do any one know how many days it takes to obtain a PCC in Mumbai?

My spouse has a new passport less then 4 months. Do we still need a PCC? If so where do we go to apply? Is it in Worli? Please inform.

Thanks.

I think you need both the PCC one from police (crawford market) and you need one from passport office too (unless your wife's passport is less then 6 months old)

Yes both are govt dept and can take any where from 20 - 45 days.
