Actually you are wrong. It does not only imply, it states a US government issued ID. Please be careful with your posts you might be misleading someone and have them stuck at a port of entry.

Carry your passport and a copy of your marriage certificate you want to be afraid just enjoy your honeymoon but be cautious and take documentation that can prove you are in AOS process.

Having fulfilled the visa requirement is great. But if the I-94 is expired and the alien holds no I-551, he is still out of status. Even those who have filed are at best under color of law only and not removable.

OK, thanks for all the advice. What a headache. I am going to try to call USCIS to see what they say.We plan on bringing copies of the check I send for AOS, as well as a copy of the marriage certificate and proof that we sent the AOS.

It amazes (appalls me) how (and, even more mystifyingly, why) posters blithely recommend taking only minimal precautions or throwing all caution to the winds. A little preparation in anticipation of WORST-CASE SCENARIOS can avoid inconvenience and perhaps even disaster. Err on the side of CAUTION along EVERY step of the immigration process!

Now that it is clear, a license from a different country will not be enough ID to get you through TSA

You are really ignorant if you think you can fly in the US only with another country's driver's license as identification. If you want to take those chances that is ok, but do not make comments that can negatively affect someone else. Read the entire article.

Thank you for all the information. I cleared some things up for myself too my calling USCIS yesterday. USCIS advised me that there is no issue traveling within the U.S. and we would be fine. I explained that I was more concerned with over-zealous CBP personnel perhaps questioning my fiance, as he will be traveling with his foreign passport. (I also went to TSA's site and read that yes, in fact only U.S. licenses are OK, he will have to show his foreign passport)So, I was given CBP website and phone number (which was useless to be honest, all automated) But anyway, we will be traveling with the marriage certificate, copy of the check I sent to USCIS for AOS, should CBP decide to be over-zealous. USCIS made it very clear that we are FREE to travel within the US. So, Hawaii here we come to celebrate our marriage

Only saw this thread now but just want to say that you should be just fine traveling to Hawaii. It never hurts to be on the safe side (bringing all those papers just in case), but you should be fine. We went to Hawaii for our honeymoon too and it was awesome! Enjoy!

And yes, he'll need his foreign passport. I'd like to point out that the only foreign-issued ID TSA will accept is the passport, as listed on their website. A foreign driver's license is useless as it could be saying "fishing license" or "library card" in another language. Please **DO NOT** travel with only your foreign license.

Just wanted to share, that my Husband and I had a wonderful wedding and spectacular honeymoon. There was not one issue traveling with an expired I-94...TSA agents simply looked at my husband's foreign passport for ID purposes. TSA Agents in Hawaii were actually very pleasant in Hilo, Kona, and Lihue. So, don;t be worried if your I-94 is expired, as long as you married within the 90 days and you stay in the US, you should have no issues.
