Hi everyone!!

specially to KarenCee ..... bcoz as you want an update from me regarding on our biometrics today in atlanta. We drove 715am bcos of my husband thought of traffic on friday morning, but gladly we didnt experienced heavy traffic and we arrived in USCIS Atlanta. Its not really that hard to find it ... but be aware of the numbering of areas .. bcos we saw 1260 nearly infront of 1255 area address of atlanta USCIS its on the right sode of the rode, and entrance all the way to the parkign is small. you ahve to drove all the way to the back of the bldg bcos thats were the entrance door of the suite 100. Dont bring any camera, camera celfone, or even celfone .. bcos u will not be allowed to enter.

Our appointment is 10am, but we arrived by 830am and its doesnt bothered at all. when you enter the door you just gonna straight to the line, to check ur bag and identification card... and for K1 like me, ive been asked for marriage license so dont forget to bring it to verify the new marriage name. then will give you form to fill-up then proceed for checking the form and then will call your number for the biometrics and ten fingerprinting. it took us 20 mins and we left the area by 9am, so meaning it doesnt matter if ur too early to come.

Now, my question about elaboration my case .... weve been asked for RFE bcos my husband tax 2005 is "0" income, its bcos he was under in a lifetime benefits in atlanta police, pension, SS benefits and tehy where all untaxable income.

So we just send back copies of the documents we submit the first time and my husband explained everything by means of letter and he showed how we computed it in one year income. Then my case been updated today as like this:

Application Type: I485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:

On August 9, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates.

any clue for this???? don't want to stress up myself of thinking negatives :(

thanks for infos!

Hi Rebelheart - I know that fingerprint processing routine in Atlanta well having done it three times:-).

From my understanding, the response you received to your request is basically stating you are not going back to the back of the line with your application. The total application processing time takes a certain amount, which may or may not have been listed on your initial receipt (mine wasn't). Let's say the total processing time is 200 days. Your application has already gone through all of its preliminary processing, which means they have reviewed it, determined how complete it is, requested any missing information, sent you for biometrics - and have initiated security checks. So after receiving your RFE, you don't go back to 200 days - you go back to where you left off, let's say 170 days - so you would expect to receive a decision in writing within the next 30 days. Those figures are arbitary, btw. Their standard response is that you will receive a written decision, so don't worry about that meaning anything ominous - it just means you will be notified of their decision regarding your AOS application. Have you had your interview yet? If not, that would probably be the next 'written' decision - requesting your presence at the interview.

Btw - the way I read it is your husband does have income, it just isn't taxable income? Did you send in copies of the forms he would receive to submit to the IRS showing his income amount in dollars and then verifying it was excempt from taxes? Good luck with the RFE.

Ohh regarding about your question about my husband income. Yes we do include all of the necessary papers like, filed 2005 tax showing zero income, pay stubs as checks he received as weekly from his employer Ward North America as an injured officer from duty that gaves him lifetime support from the police, his certification of lifetime pension from his work and form 1099-R annually pension form atlanta police, yearly SS benefits he received from Social Security as reflect in SSA-1099 annually too, and his annual pension from City of Atlanta in form 1099-R.

As my husband see to it, they just based on our 2005 tax, which it really showed "zero" income. so they issued us RFE, so we reply RFE without using Tax 2005, instead showed them computation and letter how we received income benefits of my husband.

What REALLY Happens at Biometrics

You have your Appt. Date and time you arrive early and then reality strikes!

When you walk up to the door there is a thick heavy black Curtain blocking any light or visability from the "outside world"

As soon as you walk through the curtain and door you enter a cold room lit only by infra~red Red lighting. You notice only large men with balnk enexpressive faces, all named "SMITH" in black suits and dark sunglasses, then when you are about to scan the room to get your bearings a very big abbrasive looking individual "Agent Smith" suddenly comes up to you and throws a blind fold over your eyes & bag over your head, escorting you into a cold long tunnel.

As you walk down this tunnel you hear faint echos of screaming and heavy breathing, the air is cold, damp and earie. As you approach the end of the tunnel you hear this sudden loud CLANG! of a steal door, you notice all the faint screaming that you heard before has stoppd and turned into a sputtering whimper. Next thing you know you are tossed into a cold steal chair strapped down from your neck to your ankles.

Your heart races, then you hear mumbled whispers and another voice enters the room. The sound of metal clanging startles you more as they GRAB your hand & inspect your fingers with meticulous grunts of approval ,taking your fingers one by one & placing them in what feels like warm body fluid. Your hands are placed on a cold surface with this warm fluid ooozing in between your fingers and then, your blindfold is removed & suddenly there is a BRIGHT Blinding Flash of light! Next thing you know ..you wake up (if your fortunate enough in Wyoming) or Delaware :o lost & confused with wet drawers not knowing your name.

Disclaimer: majority of Biometrics cases go smoothly without fear or worry The above is only hearsay none of the events could actually be be proven. However, the numerous missing persons out of ASC ending up in Delaware with amnesthia have boggled the public mind for years,

Ok ok previous post was a slight exxageration :P

Our Biometrics schedueld Appt. was for July 19th at 8:00am Due to schedule conflict we decided to try to go early on July 15th, they let us in  & we were in and out in 10 minutes.

Arrive Early before the ASC office opens as there are many people that have same Appt. time , the line fills in fast.

Bring the following:

1)Your original ASC appt. notice

2) Photo ID (IF Photo ID passport has different last name than your ASC notice , bring Marriage license, If your ID and Appt. notice name are not same they will turn you away unless you have Marriage license)

3) Bring your original Receipt notice for your I-485

Be sure your fingers/ hands are not dry or cracked, If you have dry hands put lotion on the nigt before so when you arrive they will take good prints

We arrived at 7:40. thank goodness we arrived Early because there were already 3 people waiting. The line really got long there more than 10 people in line before the ASC opened at 8:00am.

Once ASC opened you do intial pre-screen check in with a security guard, they ask for your Appt. letter & Photo ID.

Please note : If you filed your I-485 with your new married name and your Govt. ID has your given name or maiden name you will be asked to show the marriage liscense. 2 people were turned away that morning because the name on their ASC FP notice was different than their Passport. Bring your marriage liscense. Luckily for us we went to the Japanese Consulate in Los Angeles yesterday morning and had them make a name change to her passport to reflect her new married name. Once we showed the name change on her passport the ASC office did not need the marriage lsicense.

Moving on' after being pre-screened we were motioned over to the reception desk where they check ID and Appt. Notice AGAIN, and then they look at your hands to see if there are any cuts or scrapes and to be sure that you will take good prints, My wife has dry hands and very thin fingers the lady at reception inspected her hands then said "your hands are really dry it may be difficult to get good prints, but we will try"

We were given a number card (#1 ) They gave her a form to fill out, with name, address A# and Receipt number, then they called her number and she was seen by the Finger print dude, he had a hard time taking her prints but finally was able to get good prints, then they took her photo. After that a USCIS officer came over to verify & inspect the prints/ photo before the process was complete.

Once the USCIS officer verified everything looked good we were asked to fill out a customer survey, they stamped her ASC Appt notice and sent us on our way.

We were in & Out in 10 minutes!

Now we wait for our interview 9/27  hopefully we dont get stuck in a dreaded FBI Name check hold
