Congrats on the interview, I know its more nerve wrecking than scary but it will be over before you know it. I think its still a better feeling than to wait for USCIS responses.

Interview is in 8 days. For those who have been approved, I have been getting stuff ready, i.e, bills, pictures, etc. Does the IO take any of these items from you? Should I make two copies of everything that I am taking to the interview incase the IO takes the pictures, bills, and etc?

Hi guys! sorry for the late update, just got back from a mini celeb in Frisco with my hubby. Thank God we are also approved last Sept 24, Friday. Asbhey, Robert, and Leah congrats and cheers to us! :)

Just got back from GC interview.......................... APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was by far the easiest step.

The interview was at 10am and we got there at 9:50am after making a stop to get some coffee from Starbucks. Unfortunately, we couldn't bring our coffee in. Anyways, as soon as we got in, we were called in to a room by a lady. I knew it would be a breeze when I made a joke and she started laughing. We sat down, she said she had been looking over our case and she believes that we are married, she also said that we are lucky we got her because she's the nice one. She asked how we met, my wife and I said while we were in school. Come to find out, she is an alum at the same school we both attended. We then talked about the Pittsburgh Steelers, we talked about the weather and how I was looking for a job somewhere with warmer weather. We also talked about Toronto, Canada. She said she loved the city. I asked her what she thought of a potential name for our future first born because she had mentioned that she liked my daughter's name- daughter from another mother. After that she asked the regular questions like, "have you ever committed a crime, etc. We then gave her our folder with bills, lease, insurance, etc. She then explained to us how to file the I-751. She then said I was approved and she is not difficult and not one for stress. She said have a nice day and we said the same.

That was it. It took 15 minutes total.

Hoping to get my Green Card in the mail by the 24th.

Free until 2012

You interview actually sounds like fun!

Ours was similar in Detroit, the IO was a really nice man.. flipping through the pics he stopped at a pic of my husband with his horse taken the day I gave Tucker to Ty, he looked startled and said, "Wow, do you OWN him?"

Told him we have three and he seemed to like that ;)

Was just recently approved for my Green Card after my interview. I currently have a SSN Card which I had since 2002 when I was a student on an F-1 visa. On the SSN Card, it says "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH AUTHORIZATION FROM INS". My question is,for those that have recently been approved their Green Card and just got their SSN Card, does your card say on it "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH AUTHORIZATION FROM INS"? Since I will now be a on a Green Card, do I need to go get another SSN card that won't say on it "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH AUTHORIZATION FROM INS" or will I always have that written on my SSN card?
