I'm in Brooklyn as well. I'm not sure how to tell if/ when they transfer the file, but according to my timeline (I did my walk-in about 2 wks early as well). You should receive an interview letter about 1 wk after your original Bio appt was scheduled. From what I understand, that's when they transfer your file directly to the local office.

How right you were!! I received my interview letter today, one week after my original appointment date! :)

I think I will try to get up the guts to go in in person tomorrow!

I know it is a late reply, but here goes. I don't know if you contacted your congressman or not. But if you haven't you should. All you need is a job offer letter, print out a couple of bills, make it look like you don't have enough money to survive just of off your significant other's salary. And submit it all with a cover letter. My EAD was backdated and approved for July 29th (The date I asked the congressman to expedite it). Technically you can work even if you don't have the card in hand yet, once you will receive it it will have the dates on it that proved that you weren't working illegally.

Thanks Robert. I did do everything you mentioned-- compiled a 24 page document with a chart of all our expenses, bills, receipts and my husband's pay stubs showing how we do not make it!! I'm sorry to hear that...You know there is a wonderful application called Photoshop ;)...Anyways, yeah I think it was meant for a time where the AOS applications took a lot longer. They aren't too useful now (unless you get it expedited)

What might REALLY frustrate you now is that USCIS might approve your EAD about 2-3wks before you interview, so maybe this week. They approved my EAD 2 wks before my interview.. Bad news, I received my card the day before my interview :bonk::bonk:. Happy you got you interview letter =]

Of course, this is two weeks after turning down my dream job which does not start til the 13th of Sept. And a week after my expedite request was denied (?). If the USCIS had said yes to my request, I would have accepted the job and likely got the card at the same time I am going to get it now. Sigh.

Glad to see some July filers receiving their interview letter. I'm hoping to get mine soon. My original Biometrics date was August 30 but I did a walk in earlier and my I-485 was last touched on 8/3 and I-130 was last touched 8/11. I'm thinking I will receive my letter hopefully next week.

SEPT 11: Received Interview Letter in mail (DAY 57)

OCT 14: GREEN CARD INTERVIEW (DAY 90)-APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OCT 23: GREEN CARD RECEIVED IN THE MAIL (DAY 99)

Glad to see some July filers receiving their interview letter. I'm hoping to get mine soon. My original Biometrics date was August 30 but I did a walk in earlier and my I-485 was last touched on 8/3 and I-130 was last touched 8/11. I'm thinking I will receive my letter hopefully next week.
