heh...I guess the whole k-1 thing would be lost on you...I forgot this was the AOS from student etc and not family. Whoops....my bad! It should be the same though...after you get your NOA1 you can check the status online and sign up for email/txt notifications.

Noticed your filing and Chicago's receiving date is the same as mine. It would have been nice to have a same-date-mate but alas, mine is coming back due to out-dated I-485 :bonk:

I did not complete a form G-1145 to receive electronic/text notification. Is there any way I can send that in now? Or do I just need to sweat it out and wait for the notifications in the mail? :(

It will be fine, we also forgot to send out form G-1145. All i did was to check everyday if our payment has been cashed. You will soon receive you NOAs, hopefully a week or two form now. :)

oh no! which form I-485 did you use? The one for download on USCIS website expires 12/31/2010....

Did you get your form from elsewhere? Sorry to hear!!!!

I used the one that expires 11/30/2011 with Revision date of 12/16/08. The latest one has a revision of 12/03/09, I am pretty sure I downloaded from USCIS website but doesn't matter at this point.

Still have not received the anticipated rejection letter (neither the NOA), hoping it comes tomorrow so I can refile. Ready with an updated form.

By the way, I made the check of "One Thousand & Ten Only". Do you think thats the way to right it? I hope it doesnt matter but curious...

Just spoke to the mailman, still no returned-package. Its been soooooo long since I sent and they received it. They really need to send it back to me so I can submit the correct forms.

I guess no point calling anyone as my application is probably not in the system either :(

Hi all, I'm a July filer!

The packet was received the 6th of July by USCIS, they said they received it the 9th of July, 12th of July they sent receipt. I received an appointment for biometrics 12th of August, but today I went to Fresno to do a walk-in appointment, and that took only 15-20 minutes and is now done!

I also called USCIS today to request expedited processing of my I-765 because my wife will be out of a job soon and I have a pending job offer that will start as soon as my work authorization is approved. :-)

06/01/2010: Found out that I am no longer eligible for the J-1 visa I was applying for for my summer internship, because of marriage

07/12/2010: USCIS sent NOA1 (FedEx receipt 07/09/2010)

07/27/2010: Did walk-in biometrics in Fresno, CA (Scheduled appointment was 08/14/2010 in San Marcos, CA)

07/27/2010: Requested expedited processing of I-765 due to financial hardship

07/27/2010: RFE (I-864 instead of I-864EZ) - expedited processing cancelled.

08/09/2010: I-131 delivered to USCIS (according to USPS)

08/13/2010: RFE response NAO received per e-mail. (USPS receipt 08/11/2010)

08/16/2010: Requested expedited processing again.

08/24/2010: Contacted Representative about help. Inquired to USCIS, told us they couldn't ask for any kind of preferred processing, and gave us status update (At the "judicial stage of the process"?)

08/25/2010: Work permit card production ordered!
