A couple with a Colombian beneficiary just received their NOA2 on 10/8. Their NOA1 was dated 6/27. In the group with Colombian beneficiaries, there are only 3 or 4 couples ahead of me and the soon to be misses.

Thats great news, really hoping for news in October x

I am not quite sure what to make of these numbers, or even if they are accurate, so this is my guess.

According to USCIS, Vermont has:

5600 pending

884 Awaiting customer action

3000 Completions

2014 Receipts

Not sure if completions means NOA2 is ready, just not been sent. If I am right on this, they are halfway through.

I guess this is encouraging???

I looked at the graph and for the life of me I'm not sure what exactly they are trying to portray. It would make more sense to use a pie-chart but it seems to me that some of the data might be duplicative. Is this a point in time presentation or does it reflect the entire month? Is it cumulative or does each column stand on its own?

At any rate, if you did not round the numbers from 10/14/10, it would appear that there were 19 more completions since then.

Who knows. The wait goes on.

I had this same question a while back.. It is cumulative that's why the monthly numbers don't seem to add up.

Hang in there, everyone. You July filers should start seeing some NOA2 action soon.

balances would have to be brought forward from month to month. if you trace it backwards you can kinda get a picture when a given months files should be finished ( the average file )

I used to have to do breakdowns like that for inventories and did a quick one earlier in this post.

only thing that i didnt spend time figuring out was where the files awaiting customer actions fell in, to add that to my calc i would need more info, i mean who knows how long a file could sit their before its scrapped and the average time it takes a person to get the rfe info back to uscis.

I know. There was a flurry of activity around the time that I was preparing our I-129F and hoped that it would be to our benefit; but I kept trying to get it perfect that I just missed the speed-up. Our personal timeline calls for my fiancee to arrive on Jan 4, 2011. It's still possible but with the holidays coming in December; it's becoming increasingly less likely.

I perfectly understand what you describe and would have no problem following it. It is for that reason that I have now started to follow Igor's list. See link below

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?visa=1&form=1&scenter=2&option=2&sortby=2

Granted it's only a sample of all of the I-129F's that have been submitted but it gives you an idea of what's being worked on. Another problem is that because it is driven by self-provided data, the list is only as good as the providers (us) are diligent in entering and updating the data. But, it's only an estimate; an estimate that I can live with.

According to Igor's list, our petition has moved up on place. Yippeeee!!!!!

By the way for my beficiary's country, the average historical wait is something like 93 days from NOA1 to NOA2 so I don't have too much to complain about. But let's see what happens on day 94.

I would really like to see more movement although I'm aware folks may just not be updating their timelines I think there should be more than 11approvals (last 15 days) in general.

I also wonder realistically how long it takes to look at a file/case in order to approve it? I would think at this level once the background checks come back it's just a matter of checking to make sure the 2yr in person meet has occurred, bam your petition is approved. But hey what do I know.

Somewhere, there's a link to an "interview" with a former service center adjuticator. I'll have to go find it in a minute. It's from a couple years ago but I imagine the process would be pretty similar - he said for most cases (as in those that don't require an RFE, don't have a name that flags up something in the system like a similar name to a criminal or nothing that otherwise complicates a case) it only takes about 15 minutes to flip through and check things out. It's kind of frustrating to know that, since we wait for so long for something that only takes a few minutes but in a way it is reassuring because it means they *can* blow through petitions pretty fast when they get going. :)

Sorry for the double post, I'm unable to edit my last one for some reason but here's the thread I was referring to. Somewhere on VJ, and for the life of me I can't find it now but it's around, there's a page that streamlined all of what he said so you don't have to read through the whole thread. Someone else would have to dig that up again, though, because I can't find it anywhere.

Another interesting (and more recent, as well as applying directly to VSC) is this thread, which was started a little over a year ago and is stickied in the main K-1 forum.

Andy and Kayla, thanks for sharing!! I knew about the interview posted by Gary and Alla, but didn't know about the other thread applying directly to VSC. So thanks for this.

Oh well, the other one's posted by Gary and Alla as well(the one from a year ago), my mistake.

Yeah, the more recent VSC one was by Gary and Alla. :) The other one is older and he gave some insight into the process itself (what the adjudicator has to do). I really wish I could find the other link that had it all on one page instead of throughout the thread but I'm sure someone has it.
