You get the number if they put in a service request-basically, they open an investigation as to why you haven't heard anything yet. The number is just a way of tracking the investigation.

Specifically ask if they will open a Service Request. If they won't, that's when you go to the supervisor.

I just waited patiently until the first tier customer service robot quit talking, asked for a service request, she said no, then I said, "Ok, please transfer me to Tier 2." She did, and after about 2 minutes of being on hold, I got a service request number from Tier 2. Who by the way, was MUCH more polite than the bored sounding robot in tier 1. :(

Tomorrow is my 6 month mark and every time I've called USCIS, they told me the system will not allow a service request to be put it... Well today my fiance was able to get it done!!! I'm not sure how since he's the beneficiary and we've BOTH been told that only the petitioner could inquire about the case. Well I am not expecting this process to follow any logic anymore... I'll just wait, pray, and force myself to be patient!!!

Called my congresswoman's office today to follow up on the privacy release form I sent them, and the lady I talked to basically said they couldn't do anything except find out what's taking so long... So basically another service request. >_< Everyone is so unhelpful! :(

But they have specific people to communicate with, so they get better information.

Also, every Congressional contact is paperwork for Vermont to fill out, so it is something they try to avoid. That is why we should do it as often as possible. It sends a message that neglecting us is a serious mistake for them.

I wouldn't say it's another service request.

They have access to a direct phone line and they don't talk to our front line operator. That's already something. In our case, congressman's team got access to much more detailed explanations than we did and them calling put us on expedite. They were very helpful.

Sorry you haven't gotten your NOA2 yet. It would drive me nuts too

Oh ok. I guess that helps me feel a little better lol. Although half the time I feel like I've been banging my head against a brick wall. Still, I guess at this time any news is something. Any idea how long it will take to hear back from the congressional inquiry?

Keep us updated, I'm curious to see how it goes for you.

As for me, got a response (or "response") from the service request, which just said "The status of this service request is: Your case is currently under review. You should receive a decision or notice of other action within 60 days of the date of this letter."

Talk about not helpful =P

Wow that sucks. >_< I haven't gotten a response from my "Service Request". How long did it take to get your response? Hope you get your NOA2 soon... (preferably before mine since you've been waiting longer lol.)

The service request is a pathetic insult. There is no doubt about that and never has been. But it should be done anyway so when you want real help, like from your Congress Member,. you can say that you put in your service request, and this is what happened.

Are they even open today? No approvals seen on Igor's List for K-1 today if so... =/

Sure they're open. And ignoring their responsibilities to United States Citizens again

In other words, business as usual. :bonk:
