What do you mean, you are an August filer? If you feel overlooked, you are not the only one. On Feb. 3 you reach your 6 month mark, give USCIS a call.

They sent the NOA1 on 7/28, so I think of myself as a July filer, albeit a late one. I put in a service request today, for what it's worth.

Part of me thinks that because I frontloaded the application with proof of the on-going relationship (making it a big, thick stack of paper), that the adjudicator is looking at it, then grabbing a thin one underneath =/

I did the same. Going to contact my congresswoman tomorrow as well. Got nothing better to do as I'm snowed in lol. I did the same thing with my application, the adjudicator probably skipped over both of ours! xD

Called twice. First time they gave me a go-away line, and to call back after 20 days. Second time, said we are still within the time frame. Sent a letter to the Congressman around the same time as the first call. He didn't respond. Will call again, but feeling like just letting it run its own overdue course.

To all remaining July fillers : hang in there!!!

In our case, VSC wouldn't let us file a service request until we hit the 6 months mark. Once we could, we both filed and called our senator.

Calling our senator worked pretty good for us. It does seem they have more power than the petitioners in inquiring... For instance the reply we received to our service request was to contact USCIS again 60 days later. Our senator's office inquired few days later and his staff was told our case would be expedited as we were indeed past the 6 months mark (information they didn't give us). Same question different answers.

Senator's staff told us the good news and we waited for 10 days. Without any development, we called our senator's office again saying we were worried USCIS lost our case because our last update was still Oct 3 and we were told 10 days ago it would be expedited, which obviously had not been done.

They called USCIS again to inquire a 2nd time and we got our NOA2 by email about 5 days later.

Well, I've finally done everything I can. Got a service request put in 2 days ago, faxed the privacy form to my congresswoman, (and mailed her another copy just in case since I couldn't contact them by phone lol). I guess all I can do now is wait. :(

They wouldn't let me put in a request the first time I called (which was also at 6 months). Try calling again, and if they won't let you, ask them when you can. If they can't tell you, ask to be escalated.

Same here, plus both senators.

I really wish people would stop saying July is done. It isn't =P
