Are there any unapproved July Filers out there? I know Igor's List says there are but are there any wandering around this thread? Lol. All the recent approvals on Igor's List seem to be mid August and up. I feel like they skipped over the rest of July! >_< Just wanted to see if people aren't updating their timelines or what. :P

Another July filer here, 7/23 NOA1.

I placed a service request yesterday and will most definitely keep my VJ entry up to date.

It appears that there's a block of filers with NOA1 from 7/22 to 8/10 who've been skipped over, or at least delayed. The ten NOA2s on 1/28 were all after these dates.

I read that some cases may have already been adjudicated but the VSC database may not have been updated. A federal agency with lousy IT, I'm shocked, shocked.

Hi,

Newly registered to forums but been reading VJ for a while :hehe:

Canadian beneficiary with NOA1 July 23 from VSC here, USC petitioner called 3 times for updates, then filed a service request 2 weeks ago and received the standard "contact us again in 60 days" cookie-cutter reply by email. Our last touch was on Oct 3rd.

Called senator last week to ask for help and inquire on our behalf. His staff called USCIS pretty quickly and were told our case would be assigned to an agent and "expedited" as it's past the 6 months mark.

Knocking on wood... Been exactly 190 days today since we petitioned and we are getting fed up with this ridiculously long process and lack of updates.

Have you contacted your Congress Member? This is a good articulable reason for them to inquire.

July 29th NOA1...Still nothing! Called USCIS at the 180 day mark and the Immigration Officer said our petition was under review and put in a service request. Sent an email to VSC today to follow up! Hopefully we'll all get some approvals next week!

How do you get them to put in a service request? I've asked twice, both times after the 5 month mark and they give me the "Sorry but you're still within processing times and our system won't let me put in a service request" bullcrap. :(

I just asked to speak to a supervisor (I think they are usually an Immigration Officer). After asking about my status... I asked if there was any other action I could take and he told me he would put a service request in for me. Good luck!

Yeah I don't get it. Some are able to put in service request while others cannot. The posted processing time is 5 months and they should honor that. I've heard several VJ'ers who emailed their service centers and it seeems to work. However since you hit your 6 month mark you should hear something very soon.

my advise for those at 6 months already:

1. service requests are useless and a waste of time.

2. call daily- get name and number of everyone you speak to.

- ask for the same person over again. at least once a week INSIST on

getting through to an actual immigration officer (not a phone drone).

3. get the overview of your case and timelines ready and mail them

to your Senators - you are overdue the process the USCIS told congress.

therefore as their funding is on the line : get your Senators on board.

-go to their websites, download the immigration release form - they can do nothing

without a release signed by you - it is federal privacy law.

4. be fair, firm and above all calm on the phone.

never be abusive or arrogant.

5. take notes, notes and more notes - did I mention take notes?

times, names, officers numbers, congress is asking for them.

6.if your Congress reps are on the ways and means committee or oversight

for immigration, state department or budgets - they need to know.

write to them also.

7 IMPORTANT: sometimes the USCIS website is not updated.

there are many times when the website shows no action when indeed

an noa2 turns up in the mail. so be calm and firm when asking for the immigration officer.

ask pertinent questions:

- has the petition been delayed for a lack of documentation ?

- has the petition been delayed for any other reasons such as country of recipient ? (e.g. Egypt at the moment)

- What can I do to assist the USCIS to get this petition answered ASAP ?

- is there any reason that my petition is now 30 days beyond the timeline the director promised congress ?

you need to let your voices be heard.

your senator can expedite your case if the case is 30 days beyond the 5 month mark.

But their offices take about week to 2 weeks to get your forms filed and assigned

to correct staffer to follow it through.

tax payers we deserve better, and many in Congress are hearing us at last.

when its time for the funding arguments, you will see changes.

be kind - the USCIS staff had their hands tied by the executive branch

to prioritise other visas not K1s or IR1s. they are 'stuck in the middle'

Tax payers and fee payers, when the system can kick out a humanitarian visa in 8 days

we know the 180+ days are just atrocious. we deserve better.

It seems USCIS website was updated tonight (on a Saturday!), both beneficiary and petitioner got automated email about 7 hours ago saying they (USCIS) mailed approval on Jan 24, which we haven't received yet.

Total of 190 days from NOA1 to NOA2.

We're pretty excited to be moving forward :)
