Just out of curiosity, what do you plan to do if the evil tyrants of the USCIS make good on their threat to steal yet another 60 days out of the lives of two innocent, law abiding, hard working, taxpaying, fee paying people?

I have no idea.. cant think of anything else as we've done everything.. we'll just keep calling I suppose.. any advice?

Met - September 13 2007 in Birmingham Alabama

Engaged - February 12 2010 in Linlithgow Palace, Scotland

NOA1 - July 8 2010

N0A2 - January 18

Medical Passed - March 15

Have you gone the Congressional route yet? If so, write to your Congress member again, this time with a copy of the letter you got, telling him/her that you can't understand why you have been pushed out to 7 1/2 months while everyone around you is getting theirs in 5 1/2 to 6 months, that obviously there is a problem with yours, they won't tell you what the problem is, and Mr./Ms Congress Member, can you please find out for me.

Have you been in contact with your senator yet? He/she needs a release form signed by you otherwise USCIS cannot talk to them. Most senators have the form on their website. You need to download it, fill it out and sign it, and fax it to their office.

A senator cannot force USCIS to do anything, but it frequently helps, as they will take a call from a senator's office much more seriously than a call from you.

If you can, do that tonight so they will have it when you call tomorrow.

well Paul left a message at his senator office before new years eve and they called back today so He will fax our papers 2nite :)

Did you stop at 1? You have 3: 2 Senators and 1 House Member. Try the other 2.

Ok. So my fiance just called USCIS about our case since it has past the 5 month mark on 30/31 Dec 2010. They said they will submit an inquiry. And told us to call back in 20 days.

Now what?

For some reason, I had a scene of "Life is Beautiful" in my head before I slept last night. The character Guido played by Roberto Benigni was a care-free and could make light of the situation for the sake of his son. This was all done despite the challenges faced.

Sure, one could argue it is a wonderful lie; but it made me reflect upon myself. Faced with all this waiting and uncertainty, I've been feeling rather miserable.

I wondered how do I stay happy and positive as this (visa process) is a very frustrating experience. I feel worn out, basically feeling like a cat rug. Run over numerous times.

Guido in his tattered clothes, fatigued and starving still made an effort. I guess being happy is a great effort. Overcoming that urge to slink into the comforting mud hole of depression.
