I just checked mine and it was approved yesterday! Dawn is going back to the USA today, so we were really sad. I got home from dropping her off and yes - it was there...

Congrats!!!! But don't be sad. I know it's hard letting her go but now that you have the NOA2 you have a rough idea of when you both will be together forever (barring any problems with NVC/Embassy).

Well, the sadness dissipated when I checked the status and then was able to call her before she took off :)

Start of relationship

??/07/2008 - A random Skype message came through to me from an American girl

14/02/2009 - After months of talking, the American girl flew over to me - I knew we were meant to be

18/08/2009 - I proposed to her on Brighton Beach, UK

K1 Journey

15/07/2010 - We finally put in the i129f application - after shortly considering me going there on VWP, marrying and trying to Adjust Status, but was too risky

03/01/2011 - NOA2 on the day Dawn returned to NY after spending Christmas with me

10/02/2011 - I visited NY for 3 weeks (let this hold up the K1 process)

28/02/2011 - Medical

29/03/2011 - K1 Interview at London Embassy - Visa granted!

01/04/2011 - Visa in hand

Next Stage

03/05/2011 - POE in JFK - can't wait!

I just finished calling the USCIS call center... :bonk: after making it past the gatekeeper and waiting 30 minutes I finally talked to an Immigration Officer. He told me that we had no apparent RFE's but that we were still not out of the normal processing timeframe! NOA1 was 29 July! He told me that we should hear something by 28 January! I then calmly asked him if this was the actual date that I could call back and get more information... he replied that after 6 months we are outside of the normal processing timeframe... Call back to get more information. I take this as wait till after 6 months to get any kind of actual assistance for your petition. Not really good news but at least its a solid date to shoot for...instead of the usual BS answers from the call center. Hope this helps!

Your normal time frame is up. Unless I suddenly lost my ability to add, July 29 + 5 months = December 29. Who the hell is this guy to change the rules and make it 6 months?

It makes me cringe to read the stories where we are told that "you are not late because you are within 30 days of your time frame". Thirty days late is not late? Says who? The last time I checked, one day late was late.

Where does it end? What BS will we hear from then next? That 60 days late is not late? When does it go to 120 days? Does it stop there, or will the unfortunate people who file in 2012 hear that 1 year late is not really late.

Late is late. 5 months = Time is up, and I want my approval NOW!

I'm kind of regretting booking my trip to NY for February 10th - February 26th.

Is it possible to book the interview and stuff for March?

You could try emailing/calling the London Embassy (USC could call NVC) once they recieve your packet. I know some embassy's will bump up your interview if they are able too, but I'm not sure about yours.

Might want to ask in the regional forum and see what they say.

No not yet, i fly back 7th Feb so I still have a month here, but im hoping my packet 3 and me arrive about the same time at my house lol :) I called NVC last night and they had not recieved it yet so I will try again tonight. Also, London is about a 10 week wait on interview I think currently so I think your trip in Feb will be fine, just closer to the time u can send ur paperwork into the embassy and then wait for interview ( of which your trip will probs fall in that waiting time)

Well, I got the long awaited reply from VSC today. After waiting the 2 weeks on the inquiry on my case, I got an email response saying, "Your case is currently under review. You will receive a notice of action within 60 days of the date of this letter." 60 days? Are they kidding me? It's already been 5.5 months! You'd think they could at least give me a tighter time frame than that! I knew the government was inefficient, but I didn't know they would be this inconsistent and unfair, approving August filers when a lot of July filers are past their time frame. Sorry I couldn't bring some good news, but just had to get that off my chest. I know the Lord's timing is perfect and that this wait has strengthened my faith and my relationship with my fiancee, but I just wish USCIS would show some consistency!

Just out of curiosity, what do you plan to do if the evil tyrants of the USCIS make good on their threat to steal yet another 60 days out of the lives of two innocent, law abiding, hard working, taxpaying, fee paying people?

Totally agree with you

We are calling our senator office, idk if that would help but anything its better than just being waiting for USCIS to finally work on july filers

Have you been in contact with your senator yet? He/she needs a release form signed by you otherwise USCIS cannot talk to them. Most senators have the form on their website. You need to download it, fill it out and sign it, and fax it to their office.

A senator cannot force USCIS to do anything, but it frequently helps, as they will take a call from a senator's office much more seriously than a call from you.

If you can, do that tonight so they will have it when you call tomorrow.

Have any of you who've recently received NOA2's been able to see an update to your case statuses online?

Hi Sklith, Yes, after my log in page my case shows online as (last updated 12-30-2010)and when I check status it shows (post decision activity) and the text reads (we have approved this I129F). This all showed up online the evening of my approval (12-30-2010).

I-129F mailed to VSC June 18,2010.

I-129F delivered to VSC June 21,2010.

Waiting, waiting for NOA1.

July 12, 2010 VSC states petition was rejected (no reason given) and was being returned however they did give me the case #.

Waiting, waiting, did not get returned petition instead got hard copy of NOA1 in mail on July 26, 2010 with

different case # (very strange!!!) I have not seen anything like this on VJ.

NOA1 dated July 20, 2010 (way too long) 29 days since delivered.

Check cleared July 22, 2010.

Received NOA1 hard copy July 26, 2010.

"Touch" July 27, 2010.

"Touch" Oct. 3, 2010 Yeah!!!!, at least something.

YEEPEE!!!! Finally NOA2. Dec 30,2010 got cell text at 4:04pm, and email notice at 6:00pm that our petition has been approved.

Now for the rest of the process, should not be so long now!!!!!!

This long wait has been very stressful for both of us, now we can make more plans for the rest of our lives together.

NVC got our case on Jan 4, 2011 and was sent to the Embassy on Jan 6, 2011. Thank you Lord!!!

We now have our MNL case number!!!!
