as of today referring to Igor's list:

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?visa=1&form=1&scenter=2&option=3&sortby=2

all NOA1s dated July 8 or earlier are either approved NOA2 or RFE.

there is some 'spotted' approvals of later dates.

what it means: VSC is right on the 5 month mark.

for those reading from August or later NOA1 maybe a little more patience

is needed.

ours: NOA1 - July 29th - hits right in the Federal holidays ! wonderful :(

note: some VJ users do not input their timelines and some do not update.

this makes it less accurate to reading these lists & results.

Wow! Amazing how one tab can change your outlook! Looking at the approved petitions drop down in Igor's List... and there are a lot of July NOA2's out there! Granted not all have been approved but it does show that VSC is actually moving and approving petitions!

Paul_Sasha... our NOA1 is also July 29th! Good luck everyone!

Is anybody even getting frigging touched? I am not sure what's going on. Looks like they have shut down for the year!!!. My NOA 1 date is 7/22. At this point, other than contacting elected representative, is there anything we can do?

Has anybody tried InfoPass? Is it useful?

Called USCIS yesterday and got different stories. The 1st guy said he could put in a request to see why I am beyond the 5 month processing time, but then he said to call back in 2 or 3 hours due to technical difficulties that would prevent him from making the request. I called back 2 hours later and got a different lady that tried to tell me I was within the processing times. She must think we're very naive lol because she said VSC is different and it is a 7 month processing time. So, I told her about my conversation with the other agent and that the website says 5 months, so then she told me to call back in 7 days since they are currently working on July 10 petitions. I wonder if I would get a different story if I talked to another agent, but at least that is consistent with Patty and Paul's post that said they were on July 9. Email is next!

I suspect that is an indication, that they are about to change their "time estimate" from 5 to 7 months....the worst thing is - I don't see if there is anything we can do about it...\ :bonk::crying:

I hope they're not changing the estimate; I think that lady just didn't want to look it up b/c it was close to the end of the business day. I called for the 3rd time today and finally got some progress! The customer rep acknowledged that I am out of the processing time but said the system would not allow her to put in a request to check the status at the VSC, so she would have to transfer me higher up the chain. The next lady I talked to was very nice and asked for my email to give to the VSC. She put in a request to see why no action has been taken on my case since July 17 (my NOA1 date) and said I should hear something back on January 6th by email. She then gave me a reference # so that if I don't get a response by that date, I can call USCIS and give them that number. Hoping we all get some good news soong!

Th extension I dialed was 1, 2, 6 in case anyone hasn't called before.

Something is very wrong with the USCIS. We should not be getting false information from their officers or reps. that only happens because they are way over their heads and have very little control on the matter. I find them unprofessional and lack of respect for us filers.

Hit my 5 month mark on the 23rd of december.

Called USCIS and was told they are working on July 10th application. Told them that i had a friend who is in the same boat and was told the same thing a week ago, asked how long does it take to make it through one days worth of K1s and i wanted to speak to a supervisor.

Supervisor said my app was recieved on july 20th but the rcpt date is july 23rd and if i wanted to put in a service request (the first person said tehy coudl not put one in) i told her no just want to know when it would be workd on, she coudl not answer, said all she coudl do is put in a service request and if i dont hear back in 30 to 45 days to call them back. Told her no thank you.

Called my senators office (Chuck Schumer) very nice woman told me to write them a letter and they would look into it for me, she walked me through writting a line or two authorizing them to seek info on my behalf.

will let you know what happens when it happens.

(to tired to proof read, sorry)

Three more days (30 Dec) and we'll hit the 5 month mark. But thanks to everyone's experience here I've lowered my expectations drastically. Been trying to keep myself preoccupied with learning something new. Spending some time with some good friends and eating everything that would be considered exotic or expensive in the States. I would have thought I'd be there by February. Looks like it will go on longer. I hope it won't take more than 9 months for the total process.

@thelastpetitioner: Thank you. I'm also glad to hear things worked out with you too. Were you user "ygr"? Wishing you and everyone here a Happy New Year. Please keep this thread alive.
