the processing time is 5 months, if they are within their 5 months then you have nothing to complain about. if you get yours before your 5 months is up, then consider yourself lucky, but unless you PASS 5 months, come on people, stop complaing, we are ALL in the same boat as you. you are not the first people to wait this long, in fact i know couples that have had to wait years to be together, and in the grand scheme of things, 5 months is nothing.

anyone who had done any research on visa approval would know this was a long process before they even embarked on it in the first place and yet everyone is acting like they are the only ones going through this and that it's some horrible injustice that they have to wait their turn like everyone else.

I am allowed to feel what I feel and I certainly know I am not the only one, thank you very much!!

This is all true, but I don't think it's appropriate or necessary to try to tell people they are not allowed to feel frustrated. If you've tracked this site at all, you will see that the service centers speed up and slow down unexpectedly and that is difficult to watch sometimes. Before you send your packet in, you see people receiving approvals in 2 months and then when it's your turn the service centers have hit a slow patch and it's back up at 5 months, all the while knowing it takes maybe a total of 15 minutes to look at a petition; that can be difficult. Nobody is acting like they're the only ones going through this. Everyone is allowed to be sad or lonely or frustrated. It's difficult to try to do the right thing and be legit and be given the run-around for an uncertain amount of time. I notice that your country is listed as the UK, which means that your consulate will also take a few months to go through; as a Canadian going through Montreal, I'm in the same boat, and on top of a long NOA2 wait being irritating in the first place, it adds extra stress because I know I'll likely have another 4-6 months with my embassy stage right after it. If the whole process, start to finish, took 5 months as you seem to be suggesting it does, I think it would be a lot easier to swallow.

I'm glad that you seem to be impervious to being frustrated or sad, but the rest of us are perfectly entitled to express those feelings. That's what these threads are for - support. If you have nothing to offer besides judgmental criticism and if everyone else's feelings bother you so much, I'm not sure why you're reading this forum, especially since this thread isn't even for your service center. I'm not saying you have to agree with anybody, but your snotty comment was unwarranted. People miss their loved ones and not everyone is as lucky as you to have an NOA2 in hand already.

Thank you!!!!!!

You are absolutely right! We are all aware it will be a long process...that was an unnecessary comment.

Like her I will be going through London and I am quite aware that even after the NOA2 we will still have to wait a bit again before getting to the interview stage.

Good luck to you Andy and Kayla

i'm suggesting it takes 5 months for the noa2, and when i had made the previous post i did not yet have my noa2, found out about that about an hour after posting. and i spent 12 years in a MISERABLE marriage, so yeah, i'm very familiar with frusterated and miserable, probably moreso than most people here. and it makes me value my soulmate and miss him that much more. i just think everyone freaking out about calling their senators and raging about it taking so long after a measly 4 month wait is ridiculous. unless it is past the 5 month time then there is nothing anyone else can do to speed it along unless you meet one of the criteria for expediting (which 90% of the people complaining do not). for the most part everyone is going to take around the same amount of time to get their noa2 as everyone who filed around the same time as them.

and i think these forums are for support, positive support, not just unwarranted rage because their time slot seems like it's going to take about the time it should take and it's not finishing 2 months early like some people that filed last year did.

and once again, when i made that post, i did NOT have my nao2, i was in the same boat as everyone else, just without the idea that the government SHOULD be getting our nao2s out in less than the 5 month processing time that it states on their own website.

giving people false hope about calling senators, and fostering the idea that their noa2s should be in before the 5 month time is not helping anyone, and probably makes for a lot more heartache in the long run.

maybe more of you should stick to the positive and stop focusing on the negatives.

As far as what I've bolded in your post, I'm sorry you had a miserable marriage but that does not give you the right to dictate what is and what isn't valid in terms of frustrations. Everyone has had difficulties. Everyone has had trials. Again, this forum is for support - there's no need to compare hardships.

You made that post mere hours ago and your NOA2 has a date from last week, so I'm not buying that you didn't have your NOA2 when you made that post, but that's beside the point so I'll digress.

I've watched this forum for awhile now and again, it is frustrating to see the service centers slow down. If you look at trends from the past year or so, it's actually uncommon overall to have almost an entire month of filers actually hit the 5 month mark, so while, yes, that's what the website says and we all know there isn't much you can do before that day comes, it is STILL frustrating to watch things slow down after seeing the centers move faster just a few months earlier. I'm not saying that's a guarantee that your month will move that way and I realize fully that's pretty much a toss-up in terms of how fast you'll get through USCIS, but it's perfectly natural to be frustrated by such an unpredictable process.

I don't see any "unwarranted rage", as you put it. I see legitimate frustration and aggravation at the situation, and nobody is lashing out at anyone else. This process is difficult for EVERYONE and some people cope with that by ranting. I don't see what harm that does to anybody and therefore I don't see why you feel the need to criticize everyone for it. If it bothers you, don't read it; there's no legitimate reason for you to even need to read this thread.

i STILL haven't received any notification of my noa2 from anyone but my lawyer, website for uscis still says under review, would you like me to forward a copy of the email with timestamps? or you could look at other posts i've made where i put the SECOND i found out. wasn't in the mail today either.

it was a complete accident that i ended up on the vsc board, just happened to have a bit of lag when tryin to click on csc and just noticed that this one seems to be more about lamenting the time frames and less about helping each other out than compared to the csc thread. i didn't say anything untrue, nor anything rude really.

and seeing people from vsc with noa1 dates around my timeline get approved over a month ago sucked for me too, but i didn't focus on the negative, or look into trying to find loopholes to speed my process, i focused on being happy for the people that WERE getting approved, focused on my bright future, and tried to do things to help get things ready for when my love does get here.

getting contacts and a job ready for him for as soon as his work allowance clears, getting furniture moved around, a dresser ready, closet space made, etc.

if all you guys see in me telling you to stop complaining when you don't yet have anything to complain about and focus on the positive is a rude comment, then you are doing just what i stated, continuing to focus on the negative, so have fun with that.

seriously, what did you hope to gain from this and subsequent posts? People come on here for support not to be patronised. Some people complain because, although we are happy for those approved, SOme receive approval quicker than others. If everyone was approved 5 months on the button that'd be fair but its not working out that way.. I am going out of my mind right now. My fiance is renting a room in tampa while im stuck in Scotland. Take away the fact I miss her so much it hurts I also hate the fact Im not there to protect her so worry constantly. If any of us sat on our asses and nonchalantly said "oh come on its only 5 months" I think we'd truly have to consider whether our relationship was as strong as we thought. A day without Rachel kills me.

Good luck everyone.. its great to know although I feel alone in this I have others to relate to..

I would like to encourage everyone who is a U.S. citizen, to contact their representative in Congress. I am few weeks away from hitting the 5 month mark, and did not want to wait until that time to try to solicit help right before the holidays. Lets face it, every week that passes, lessens the chance of our NOA2 getting here this year. Because, employees start using their vacation time, offices usually have minimal staffing on hand, etc.

This whole process is unfair, and we all have the right to complain. There are several July filers who got their NOA2 within a month, and while I am happy for those, I find it quite unfair that I had to sit and wait. But, life isn't fair, so I deal with it, just like everyone else here does. Glad to know I am not alone.

Best of luck everyone, and Santa, all I want for Christmas is my NOA2, thanks.

I wouldn't stress about that poster. If she could read all of her posts and not see rudeness, I have nothing to say to her. It isn't like she came in and said, "Be positive, guys! :) It's still within the timeframe and it will come! Focus on the positive!" She came in and said, "Quit whining, people." and THAT is where the rudeness lies. The message you're trying to get across doesn't accomplish anything if your delivery sucks.

All I'm saying is that it's obnoxious to tell people they aren't allowed to be frustrated with this process. I'm not saying we should be guaranteed a 6 week approval because that was the pace the centers were working at a few months ago; I'm just saying it's normal and natural to have frustrations and I see a lot of support in this thread - lots of congratulations for everyone being approved. I think it's equally obnoxious to click on a thread, read 2 or 3 posts out of tons of pages, apply it to the entire thread and everyone in it and write a snarky, presumptuous message instead of hitting the back button.

Hang in there, July. :luv:

:luv:

Thanks for the encouragement, Andy & Kayla. I've found a lot of encouragement on this site just knowing others are waiting, too. Our day is coming any day now, July filers (hopefully before Christmas)!
