Do Americans really know anything about the world? I am being serious here. I think 30% of Americans now have passports, versus about 60 to 80 elsewhere.

since when do people need a passport to know anything about the world?

You don't but without any international exposure, you'd be hard pressed to know anything about the world. The number of people I have meet here who have barely left their county or city let alone state or country speaks volumes. It's also why I was asked if I visited the US by train or at what age English is taught as a second language in AUS.

Charles no offense but middle America and Texas is probably the worst offenders. It's also why you have geniuses like Spook thinking the US is the envy of the world.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

BY has a passport so that gives him credibility.

I have actually traveled and lived in various countries and we regularly do travel. That;'s what those from first worlds countries do. Whereas, you clearly shipped the trophy wife in and probably didn't even go to Brazil. In fact, I have never heard you mention it or your wife once - strange. Come to think of it, are you even married or is that BS too?

The US is the envy of the world. That is why you devote your life trying to prove that it isn't. To be the man, you've got to beat the man.

This is based on your 'extensive' international travel of course. You are so full of ###### it's not even funny any more.

Maybe I don't even have a wife and I just pretend that I do so I can hang around at VJ? Maybe I'm only 12 and a troll? Or maybe I have enough self confidence and I'm comfortable at my place in life so that I don't need to try and impress strangers on an internet forum? Hmmmmm, I wonder which one it is?

my sister has a passport and she's completely clueless. just sayin.

Well yes, a passport without travel is useless. I am just illustrating that over 70% of the country is guaranteed to basically have never traveled around the world period. Now factoring in what you are saying, which means it could be up to 80% or 90%.

I'd say everyone on my family members and friends from AUS, UK etc has traveled or regularly travels abroad.

No maybe at all bud, for someone who joined a few years ago, you seem to come-up short on immigration based issues or posts. At least I am done with the process, which explains my presence in OT alone. Also funny is that for someone who dislikes foreigners and their differing views and experiences, you do seem to spend a long time in an immigration forum of foreigners.

You constantly compare everything to the US and claim how much better it is everywhere else. Why? Because the US sucks? Because the world revolves around Australia? Nowrway? Sweden? You're making yourself look even more foolish than usual. Nobody compares themselves to #7, or 14. Only the best, the US.

Agreed... It would be like someone who has only watched a porno as saying they know all about sex.... seeing something on TV does not equate to knowing about it... it equates to having seen someones representation of things... media spin...

Most in the US live in little bubbles and have no awareness of life outside thier bubble... and dont care about anything outside that bubble either...

I am surprised how stupid some people are and how they can survive from one day to the next in the US... oddly enough they are too stupid to realize how stupid they are...

Last time I checked, this was a forum for people who want to come live in the US. I have no dislike for foreigners at all, just arrogant, ignorant America hating ones.

What a kneejerk response. Stop protending like you (and the anti-Immigrants ilk) care about brown people. The whole reason you want minimum wage rights, etc, are due to your fear of brown people. You care about creating an envirnoment that doesn't allow immigration to America. You are taking the route of minimum wage, and workers' rights only to appear politically correct. These people need to grow some balls and come out and say they hate immigrants, immigration, etc. That America is a white Protestant country that doesn't allow or shouldn't allow the others.

The underlying reasoning is hate, xenophobia. Which is ironical because most illegal immigrants are being exploited for cheap labor by Republicans. A parallel can be drawn to rabidly homophobic conservatives who finally get caught with their pants down with gay consorts. Haha! You exploit them in secretly but in public you yelp about their rights.

It's cute when Conservatives talk about rights. Because it's just that, laughable joke. Nearly every human rights, civil rights organisation are centrist or to the left of center. I hope to be proven wrong by being shown multiple Conservative rights group working for the illegal immigrants, human rights, workers, etc.

Also you said "I am really hoping your dreams of interplanetary travel come true soon" out of your spite. You want the interplanetary travel to become reality so that you can deport me to another planet. While you cannot do that just yet, you'll find solace in deporting immigrants to Mexico. Does this give you a bonner?

Interesting. The underlying reason for labor and wage laws is hate?

Actually I have compared crime, Q.O.L, laws, system of government and attitude towards government.

This thread is about 'stupid people' being scared of the rest of the world, which based on your posts, clearly applies to you. Heck you cannot even accept the reality of others doing something better than you. In fact, it's why you went on a rampage regarding Toyota, just to prove your shitty cars are not #######. If corvettes are the best in the world, then why doesn't any other country by them or want them Now can the same be said for a Ferrari or AUDIs? Why do you think that is oh worldly wise one?

Riiiight and Americans in general are not renowned for this abroad are they? Oh wait, you have to actually travel and interact with those abroad to know that.
