We received our SIF also, very late last night. I called the operator an hour or so before and she said they're still reviewing our documents. My wife tried to sign-in an hour later, and magically, she gets an SIF. I tried again this morning and its still SIF.

Thank you all for sharing your timelines as it gave us an idea as to where our application stood and gave us hope that it'll complete soon. Feeling so relieved to be past 6-8 weeks :)...

Regards.

More good news! Congratulations!

Good for you on the SIF. WHen did you send in your AOS and IV Packets? Also, when did they start processsing everything?

We have just updated the details of our NVC journey in the "about me" section of our profile.

You or your petitioner would have to contact the consulate/embassy directly (email is usually best)to request a earlier date. But usually you would have to wait until they assign the initial interview date to you. I remembered that someone from your country was able to request an earlier date. This happened a few months ago. However, the consulate would have to have the available space to accommodate your request; I hope they wont be busy if you decide to make a request.

Hi Carly,

I'm a bit confused about your lawyer paying your fees. Don't you have your Case and Receipt#? That's what you need to log in.

The AVR changes the next business day. I checked mine today and it states: "Your case has been closed (or completed, can't remember) on 08/09/2010..."

Jimmy...They (NVC) have had our AOS since March 25th....Approved BEFORE May 17th cause when I called on May 17th, it showed in system already processed and approved.......now our DS-230 was approved and processed by June 3rd..... We did'nt include the Judicial record only police reports is where we went wrong. Judicial record was recorded in AVR recieved on July 7th....I was under the impression if you had to send something further in like we both did the 6-8 weeks will follow the AVR date of both our 7/7 but you already got your SIF. So what you are saying, is it is POSSIBLE we could get SIF this week or the following week? When you say next batch are you saying maybe THIS WEEK??? I hope so cause this NVC and International mail has forced us a long time to wait. I haven't seen him for this year's vacation and my job is a hard company with attendence since it is manufacturing aircraft windows and being I am raising my kids alone financially, my husband and I were holding off on another trip since we both felt he would be here soon and I would need these days to use on helping him get established and license/ soc. sec. and all taken care of. Plus we could use this trip money for a second vehichle to allow him to work. The longer we wait, I am afraid the consulate interviewer may frown and question this but it seems logical reasoning for us. I made a trip there for past two years but not this year. We kept thinking since march at NVC he would have interview soon, but it keeps getting prolonged and it is FRUSTRATING!!!!!!! Thanks for any advice.

@lisa: legally counsulate can not challange you for various visit through out the year, while you are on Job. Given the economic reason and unemployment rate being high, and the fear of getting laid off, people are holding of their vacation. Even i wasnt planning on takeing vacation since i took them in January. Visit cost money and if you have dependents and you are the only person who is supporting currently, they can question why you didnt go for 2nd visit, you can simply say, i was unable to get days off from work.

Lastly, based on the dates, i am guessing you should be due in this week or next week. Because june dates are to be completed by the end of this week.

Just got off the phone with a very nice lady at the NVC, said my case was completed on 08/09/2010 and being prepared to send to the Belgium Embassy. She informed me that my case didn't make it in time for the August interviews , but that there is still hope for September and to call back the 3rd week off August to find out. Woooohoooooo ....fingers crossed september!!!!:wacko:

@ jujuswife: thank you very much for the information, if i don't make the september interview i will take that inconsideration :)!

I know my case number yes because the I130 NOA's were sent to my husband as for everything else the lawyer has been the point of contact and he has passed absoloutly nothing at all onto us, he's been absoloutly useless, i've had to tell him what should be getting done and when this whole way thru NVC, complete waste of time and money, but it was paid to him upfront so there was nothing much we could do other than stick with him. So guess i'll just have to keep trying the AVR and wait that extra day to find out, whats another day when you have been waiting almost a year :(

Well you can call and talk to an operator because they get the most up to date info. But the wait time to get one on the line makes it not such a good option. ^^

Alles wird gut und wenn es noch nicht gut ist, ist es noch nicht vorbei.
