I talked with a very nice lady at NVC today who was very helpful when I asked some questions about the delay in the process now. She said they have a 6-8 week BACKLOG so that means allow 6-8 weeks for "MATCHING UP DOCUMENT to your file"....Then after it is matched up ALLOW another 6-8 weeks for processing!

I asked her about our case in specific how this will work and she confirmed our DS-230 has been processed and completed and so has our AOS....We got an RFE asking for Casier Judiciaire (judicial record required for some countries-Morocco being one of those countries).......she did confirm since I told her it has all NIL's as did his police report....will this document require 6-8 full weeks and she said no...after they take the 6-8 weeks to match up to our file from back-log, this particular document should take just 3 days for completion and I asked if it would sppeed it up if I now e-mailed a copy of the document she has there waiting and she said NO! It will slow it up again to wait it out since we are 3 weeks now into our wait time for the backlog.........she said normally 3 days but she can not guarantee this since it does say on AVR to wait 6-8 weeks JUST INCASE.....anyway, I hope this helps others who are waiting like us and OH I asked her too should we not consider a September interview and if it is out of the question and she said more than likely no September interview looking at our wait time now!!!!!!!!

OMFG!!! I didnt see this one!! 6 to 8 weeks to match up... then 6 to 8 weeks to process??!! and then what?? Another 6 to 8 till we get interview date??!! AINT THAT JUST FING GREAT!!!

I'm sure that can't be right. The operator told me today that 6-8 weekst to match up AOS to the case file indeed. And 6-8 weeks for review of the DS-230. And after I asked if we will hear about the outcome by the end of the month, he said that is likely.

So I'm really hoping that means after those 6-8 weeks they really looked at both those documents.

Maybe "matching up" the documents is just some kind of term they use... uh...

I called and spoke to operator today as well..she very grumpily said don't call us back until the full 8 weeks are up. She advised me that they are "matching the documents"...and they will notify us if something is missing within the next couple of weeks...ugh...so that means another month of waiting on interview appointment?

Ok that supports my theory.

And nope, you might not have to wait another month till you get a date for the interview date. They schedule them in the 2nd week of the month, so it depends on when your case will be closed. If it's in let's say the 3rd week of August, yeah you would have to wait quite a while, maybe a month till you get a date assigned. But if they close it let's say in the first week of September, you should get one assigned a week later. That's the theory.

BUT the interview date will always be in the NEXT month after the one you were assigned. I think they have to do this so that there is enough time for you to do the medical or some other stuff if needed. And it also depends on how busy your embassy is. If they have a lot of interviewers they only might be able to give you a later date, like 2 months after your case is closed.

Let's hope that's not the case. You can also always call your embassy and try to re-schedule with them.

I have a request to anybody who will be calling the NVC in the next couple of days: can you PLEASE ask what "matching up the documents to your casefile" means. I mean, get this clarified. That would maybe shed some light into that phrase.

I and more than likely some others would really appreciate that. :)

Same here, no SIF.

I really wish I could get a glimpse of the NVC offices and how the people work there. We got an RFE for photos, the photos were sent and entered into the system. I don't know how much can they be reviewing. My biggest fear is we get a 2nd RFE.

Bumping this thread.

Docs received by NVC on July 15th, still no word. Last Friday I was told to call back in two weeks or so to check on things. I, too, would really like to know how things work there. I've gotten no RFEs, but it seems the people who HAVE had them, receive them extremely soon after the NVC gets their documents. And once you send it back, it takes ages to get anything processed? How are they so fast with telling you all the ways you messed up, but take their time getting you out of their hands. You'd think they would want circulate cases as fast as they could.

matching up does not take 6-8 weeks, it takes a week to two weeks to update their system. From the date it enters AVS, you need to allow 6-8 weeks. In my case they receive my docs in NVC on Jul 9th, they entered into system on Jul 15th.. So count 6-8 weeks.
