My ole lady will be flying Continental: Tacloban>Manila>Guam>Hawaii>Las Vegas.

Guam will be here POE, does anyone know if aside from IMMIGRATIONs, will her have to do customs there or at HAWAII ?

She will go through customs in Hawaii, I flew the same route back in Nov 2009. I put my wife on the same flight from Philippines in May 2010. She had a very good experience with Guam Immigrations as he was Filipino. She had no problems with Customs in Hawaii, Just claimed her bags and went through for her connecting flight. When your fiancee hands over her sealed packet to the Guam Immigrations they will give her the open envelope back to her and tell her to give it to customs in Hawaii, They will take out her medical and give her the envelope back which contains another copy of the medical to be handed over to Immigrations in Las Vegas. This is what my wife had to do upon reaching Hawaii and Houston, Texas. Hope this info helps!

Customs people are very nice in guam, hawaii, and texas. I think I remembered seeing one line that was just for handeling the immigration. Might have her get those little headphones to listen to movie on the plane at one of the duty free shops. They charge 3 us dollars on the plane and only accept plastic. Congrats on your fiance' coming to America :dance:

Me and my daughter flew with Continental Airlines..Immigration staff in Guam are very nice.I had my POE in Guam January 2009 and my customs was in Hawaii.People were so nice. They even let me fell in line to US citizen lane.In Guam, the immigration staff just asked for my envelope, took a pic and fingerprint of me..told me to go to the small room there and another guy just asked me who is my petitioner and asked about our daughter and just looked for her US passport then he just told me to get married within 90days and apply for AOS asap and welcome me here in the US and gave my passport back with the I-94 attached on it.

Then instructed me to go to our gate to catch our connecting flight which was in Hawaii...people there were so nice..there's a guy who was waiting for me at the exit of the plane to helped me carry my baggages from teh carousel and brought it to the customs staff and they just asked me whats inside..I just told them its our personal things, thats it and they told me to go to our gate and to catch our connecting flight to Houston and that they will be the one to re-checked in our baggages and that I will get it to my final destination.

Happy trip to your fiancee.

Thanks everyone for all the heads up and good wishes.

So she will be flying from Tacloban to Manila on PAL, Manila to GUAM on Continental, Guam to Hawaii on Continental and finally Hawaii to Las Vegas on HAWAIIAN Airlines. How hard is the layout of the terminal in Hawaii since she will have to go thru customs and then find the Hawaiian Airlines check-in area, is it a long walk ? would she be lost ? would she freak out and have a mental melt down ? its her first time flying so I just want to make it as smooth as possible for her should i be concerned at all ? or is it really easy ? The reason I ask is here in Vegas the International and Domestic buildings are totally separate buildings and for a newbie traveller it would be a pain in the butt for them, im hoping Hawaii is not the same and easier.

I live on Kauai, so I met my wife outside of the immigration exit. So we took a left and went to the interisland terminal. She would go right and head towards the main terminal that is the domestic and international terminal. She can take the wiki wiki bus as well. She should have no problems, just make sure she does not end up in Waipahu or Kalihi  But if she gets lost get plenty Ilocanos around to help her out. You can also google the Honolulu international airport, because they have a map and layout of the place.
