Hey all,

We received our notice of action for Employment Authorization and Adjustment of Status on 6-18-10 and almost a month later we have not received a biometrics letter. I see that alot of people get those in about a week or two.

Should I be worried and/or check on this or could this be normal and we just dont have it yet?

Thanks for any info!

Meggie and Kevin.

It isn't normal, per se.. but I have heard of a few cases of members here on VJ who had to wait around a month to get the biometrics letter.. Some support centers are just bussier than others too.

I have heard of as long as 8 weeks with no bio letter.

Is your address is up-to-date with USCIS? Maybe try to schedule an infopass to inquire if one had been sent and somehow you didn't get it.

Good luck!

Hey Kevin

I waited 8 weeks for a bio letter, and that was in Phoenix to.

I did have to make an infopass appointment, and they printed me one right there and then at the meeting.

Let me know when you get it and I will tell you all about walk ins at Phoenix.

Hey 'andymac',

What type of infopass appointment did you make? Service for a case already filed? Also.. if we call the USCIS will they be able to tell us anything?

Thanks so much for the help!

For some reason, arizona is slow with the biometrics letter. I waited a month and a half for mine. After waiting for a month, i called USCIS and informed them that its been 30days and i havent received the biometrics letter yet. they put in a service request. I got the letter like 10 days later. Make sure u make an early walk-in, as that will speed things up, my EAD was approved 2 days after my biometrics early walk-in.

Hi Pigtails

here is what I did and it seemed to work. (all approxiamte timelines below for quick type purposes)

1. After about 6 weeks of no bio letter, rang them, complete waste of time but I got service ticket number.

2. Wrote a letter a day later to them confirming I had ticket number, blah, blah, blah, looking foward to receiving response etc....

3. Also made an info pass, ignored all the pre-requisite criteria about days and time required for doing so, just selected "case already filed"

4. Got an info pass for two weeks later,(I did this, assuming the bio would not come, if it would have, I just cancel the info pass)

5. Two weeks pass, still no bio, so went to INFO as scheduled, gave them ticket #, copy of letter I sent, and they printed my bio appt right then for three weeks later. Little bit of persuassion needed, but the guy did not want all the background stuff, just the issue.

5. Did a walk at Phoenix the following morning, which was a Wednesday, and I understand, Wednesdays are good for walkins at Phoenix, cant remember where I read that, but it stuck with me. Thats why I selected a Tuesday for the Infopass so I could go the next day if all went well.

6. Walk in at Phoenix - get there early, queue outside about 8am. When they let you in, the guy will say, your appointment is not for today, cant see you ! can you not come on the appointment date? I replied that I maybe out of town, and it would be difficult to get there as arranged, I then smiled and said, hey, listen, I was actually in town today, and thought maybe you could squeeze me in etc...etc....etc. He let me go through. Give it a go.

7. BIG TIP - As they let you all in they hand you a form to complete, when complete you hand the form back at the second desk, and then that determines your place in the bio taking queue, not where you were in the queue outside. So, therefore, complete that form swiftly and hand it in. I was about 10th in the Queue outside, but ended up being seen first as a lot of people were struggling with the form. There was nothing unsual on the form, except have your MSC numbers to hand and know your weight and hieght etc. Just be swift with it. Everyone around me was having discussions whether they were 190 or 200lbs. or were their eyes as shade of green or hazel .... or whatever.

Hope all this helps .... let me know how you get on.
