Telling people to leave is not constructive. Does that mean I get to help you throw your ####### in boxes?

and again Pike I only offered to help her pack.

You act like you've never expressed this opinion before and I should restrict my comments to this thread. Intended meaning is clear - you want people who don't think like you to leave the country.

No your wrong. I want people who dont give a dam about this country and dont have Americas best intentions in mind to leave.

Since you have no power to make it happen, I bet that just chew you up at night

No, I just look forward to the next time I can call out another person who doesn't give a dam about this country.

As someone who was told by you to pack my bags because I dared to question my feelings about this country, I can tell you that your reading comprehension is utter pants. saywhat (a man, by the way) and I both love this country but we both have conflicting feelings about that. Last I checked that isn't a hanging offence in this country. And it is indicative of some level of self-awareness; remember what they say about the unexamined life.

Yes it's the response of the powerless alright. If somewhere gets undesirable for me I move and change my circumstances. The powerless can't do that and so try to defend their 'hood from outsiders and keep it in a condition where they can hang on a bit longer. Even white flight is not an option.

That's why money is a tool for freedom for me. I don't care about a plane or a BMW or flying first class or wearing Italian shoes; I just want the option to go anywhere anytime and not be trapped and frustrated and resentful and beaten down. The Jews who escaped Germany in the 30's or the Asians who escaped Uganda, knew that their concealed gold was the real route to freedom. People who live for the day don't realise that they are spending their future options and squandering their real freedom. Hanging a walmart flag outside their door won't help them at all when the going gets tough.

Your simply lying to add to the drama. I said I would help you pack and only after you talked about moving back to the UK.

As far as your love for this country, I dont want anything to do with that warped sense of love and I think it does nothing to make this a better country.

Whos talking about hanging? More nonsense to add to the drama I see.

I'm sure there are people here who think the same about your concept of patriotism, sorry nationalism.

I don't want you to move. I want you to live in a country where you're forced to deal with and be confronted by people you don't like. Just as long as you don't take your frustrations out on the general public with a pair of semi-automatic pistols and a 500 page hand-written manifesto of pseudo-political/philosophic garbage.

I see your're using another stereotype that I am supposed to believe helps unite and make this country stronger.

AS far as the rest of the paragraph goes...good grief all I said was I would help you pack. Now you're bringing up the Jews escaping Germany.

Well if drama is what you want you have come to the right place. Pike can you assist the man?

Your comments show me that you know very little about this country.

I'm not adding to any drama. My discourse on this topic has been rather free from emotional outbursts, unlike yourself on occasion. And frankly, I don't give a fig what you think of my love for this country. Love, even unconditional love, does not mean that one cannot see the faults of the object of one's affection. Blind adherence to and reverence of places or thoughts or people is, in my opinion, not conducive to a thoughtful life. I would rather question my opinions on a regular basis, try them on for size, and discard or put to one side what is no longer useful or relevant or just not right.

America is lovely in the sense that it allows both of us to give voice to our differing opinions, no? :)

Some people believe that a space ship is coming to take them away so whats your point.

Oh dont worry I'm not going anywhere. I will always be around to call people out on the stupid things they say. ;)

compared to Saudi Arabia or Somalia perhaps

not compared to the rest of the 1st world...

So why not love USA and France and Sweden and Germany equally if they all have the same attributes ? apart from guns, their constitutions are pretty much identical but with more accent on not having inhumane prisons in Europe. Really, what rights does the constitution give that others dont have ? Pehaps tbe rights of illegal immigrants kids to be USC's but nothing of substance. I am thinking of the law - the justice system- all pretty much the same. Free speech ? Who hasn't ? Freedom of travel ? What, to Cuba ? I lost that right.

Elections ? Democracy ?

What is so special about the USA ? Really what is ? Why should anyone love it more than any other 1st world country ?

Internationalism without communism is the way of the future and saying that one 1st world country is best is like saying one gender is best.

Claiming that the US has some fundamental rights that other people don't have is simply not true and should only be believed by people of limited knowledge who have never lived or worked outside the US and so don't know - there are plenty of them.

I know this doesn't apply to you chucklette (L)

In the past I have pointed out the faults of this country. I have complained and I have praised. Most of the haterz here only act like they give a dam about this country when questioned about there attitude towards the US.

Well yes but this is common im most developed countries. What makes America unique and special is the better question.
