I am reading much about post decision activity. Does everyone has to get "post decision activity" first to get approved? thanks in advance

I just got off phone with TSC. Same as Nile_Romance, this was my first time calling and the two people I spoke to were very helpful. My call was also escalated.

My NOA1 date is July 1 so my 5 month deadline was Dec 1. My most recent activity was the Nov 23 email and Dec 1 regular mail saying "post-decision activity" and that my case was transferred from the State Dept back to the USCIS.

The 2nd person I spoke to said she is more than 90% positive that I was approved, but that they failed to send me my NOA2. She said almost always if your file goes to the State Dept, then that means you are approved. She put in a service request to see why I did not receive my NOA2. Said to expect it within 30 days and that the other forms and interview schedule would follow.

If I don't receive something by Dec 16, I will put in another friendly call to TSC to see where things are at.

Hope this helps - esp. those of you who received the "post-decision activity" notification.

Hey Val& Gary,

I am really in the dark here, I called NVC last week (after the notice) and my husband got a rather confusing answer from the officer there; he said that the case "looks" like it's been forwarded to them (now I have no idea what "looks like" means to them...hmmm...)but the file is not on their desk at this time :blink::blink:

Why didn't we get the hard copy, noa2 like everybody else.... yet to be determind...my husband is calling the TSC this afternoon to see what's going on!

How are you guys? Any news?

No, no news for us other than a couple of touches. I have no idea what is going on at TSC, and I don't think TSC knows! I was simply quoting from the TSC to CSC thread in which a couple of peeps have been told that there is a 90% chance they are approved!!

Have a look at the thread and see what you think. Confusing, and still biting finger nails! blink.gif

We received an i-797C that says "This is to advise you that we have received the above application or petition back from the Department of State, along with their request that it be reviewed. We will notify you of any action we take on this case." It looks like USCIS forwarded the petition to the Department of State, as they should when the I-130 petition is approved, but they did it prior to properly approving it, forcing Dept. of State to return it to USCIS for adequate processing. Very likely an internal mistake from USCIS, but this notice indicates that it is back on the right track.

Loto,

Our application was also transferred to TSC on November 18. I received the Snail Mail before the E-Notification. So we're at TSC with everyone else. It happened while I was visiting my wife. So with the 3 week visit with my wife over, and wishing that I could have just brought her home with me when I had to leave on the 21st, I'm just waiting on USCIS and the TSC to let me know something.

Thanks ThomasJones to let me know. Updated the sheet. Will post here tomorrow.

Good luck!

Loto

Hi - We are in the same boat as most of the July filers from CSC. We were transferred to TSC on November 3rd and then got notification on Nov 23rd of transfer to DOS. We've only been touched once since then and calling USCIS and NVC was useless. At least now we have a better sense of what's going on. Whatever happens bureaucratically, I figure we're looking at about 6 more months before we can be together unless there's a miracle that speeds up the process for those of us who have to go through the consulate in Montreal.
