skynaut, Last time, when I filed I sent originals to NVC and they forwarded to the Consulate and my wife collected them back after the interview.

Send an email to Lithuanian embassy and confirm, skynaut :star:

Yes skynaut, NVC will accept CERTIFIED TRUE COPY as well. People prefer this method due to the fear that originals will be missed in the mail or in NVC :star:

It is a pain to get all the certified copies, that's why I sent originals last time. Sometimes, NVC might RFE for original document to produce as well.

Are you sure? Coz the site you gave I understand is for USCIS, what about NVC?

Here is what I found, but I am not sure if I understand this well, because in Translation Requirement section they say:

Translation Requirements

All documents not in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that states that the:

  • Translation is accurate, and
  • Translator is competent to translate.

However here they say "translations of the following documents..." So I am not sure now...unsure.gifRequired Documents

Original documents, photocopies, and translations of the following documents must be submitted to the National Visa Center for the applicant and each family member who will accompany the applicant to the United States.

You are correct. For NVC, it must be the certified translation and you must include the document in foreign language with certified translation plus a photocopy of the same.
