How to answer question 14 on I-130 , becasue i got green card through marriage but iam now US citizen

where it ask you did you get you green card through marriage, bcozi got green card through previous marriage but now i am is citizen

I think you put N/A for 14. But I don't know what you do for 14A. I'm a USC by birth and I put N/A for 14, but I checked NO for 14A. I was told not to leave any question unanswered. Hopefully someone with the same situation as you will answer your question.

AOS Timeline

4/14/10 - Packet received at Chicago Lockbox at 9:22 AM (Day 1)

4/24/10 - Received hardcopy NOAs (Day 10)

5/14/10 - Biometrics taken. (Day 31)

5/29/10 - Interview letter received 6/30 at 10:30 (Day 46)

6/30/10 - Interview: 10:30 (Day 77) APPROVED!!!

6/30/10 - EAD received in the mail

7/19/10 - GC in hand! (Day 96) .

question 13 asks if you are a citizen complete following and it gives a set of requirements.

either your citizenship was acquired through birth, naturalization or your parents. Therefore, how you answer that question determines your response for 14.

in short, if you are naturalized but gained that through a previous marriage to either a citizen or lpr then you have to answer yes. There is no sense in saying No because all they have to do is pull up your N400 application which required you to divulge all of that information.

10-07-10 Approved

10-12-10 Received hardcopy of NOA2

NVC

10-12-10: NVC has application but case number yet to be assigned.

10-18-10: Case number assigned.

10-19-10: Provided both email addresses

10-23-10: DS-3032 emailed; no response

10-28-10: Received IIN, dithering around instead of paying the fee

10-30-10: DS3032 Kit and I-864 AOS review fee ($88) online payment; In Process

11-03-10: I-864 AOS status 'PAID"; printed cover sheet and mailed I-846EZ package

11-04-10: I-864EZ AOS received and signed by N. Visa Center

11-05-10: DS-230 IV fee ($404) online payment

11-17-10: AOS entered into the system

12-03-10: IV fee paid ($404); In Process

12-06-10: DS-230 IV status 'PAID',

12-07-10: IV package mailed out

12-08-10: DS-230 IV package delivery; signed by N. Visa Center

12-14-10: DS230 entered into system; yay

12-29-10: SIF

12-30-10: Case Completed @ NVC

Total days @ NVC:79 I-130 to Case Complete 249 days

08-25-11: Consulate Interview Schedule

10-20-11: Interview 8:30AM Need Co-sponsor

11-17-11: Visa granted

12-09-11: Picked up visa from Accra Consulate

Q13 you check the naturalization box - because you are a citizen now

for Q14 for put N/A since you are no longer an LPR

for Q14b you check the Yes box. Make sure you send proof that your first marriage ended and that you a free to marry again.

4/8/2010 - got NVC case # & gave them email address (~ 1 week)

4/13/2010 - Choice of Agent email from NVC (~ 5 days)

4/14/2010 - Email sent to NVC with "Choice of Agent

4/19/2010 - NVC email confirming "Choice of Agent" email (~5 days)

4/20/2010 - NVC email with AOS and IV bill

4/23/2010 - AOS fee paid & package send

4/26/2010 - IV fee paid

5/21/2010 - IV pack mailed to NVC

5/28/2010 - NVC received IV packet

6/10/2010 - SIF & RFE (for PCC different for Sir Lanka)

6/11/2010 - CC (with RFE)
