Im a petitioner and send my sons documents for visa processing F-1. Today Im almost fainted when I recieved e-mail message from NVC that his Birth Certificate need to be send with DS-230 package!

I send to NVC a discription of all documents including Original Birth Certificate with the package and send it by Fedex. How it can be missing, I cannot get another Birth Certificate from another part of the globe? Please, advice what to do if anybody was in same situation.

My question is if you send documents and any of them are missing by NVC who is responsible? I know lots of people in NVC going through your documents and someone can misplace,One or the other.. NVC blame you for missing documents(in my case) So what do I do, not getting visa for bad job done from NVC? Birth Certificate(original I have only ONE) cannot replace and its in Africa, sorry cannot travel over there!

I'm really sorry about what happened to you, all I can suggest to you first speak to a supervisor at NVC, explain your situation and at the same time take supervisor advanced. If they request you to provide a document you have to provide them. Even if you send to NVC and lost it according to NVC instruction for you to save a copy for yourself. I know how difficult is to obtain some document that you cannot replace immediately. Another suggestion to obtain your documents in Africa I don't know if you can call the embassy here in USA and they can give you an information how to obtain it back your child birth certificates.

05-12-2010 - Wife send PC-PP-DS-230 all Package DHL

05-17-2010 - I Received DHL mail from my Wife

05-24-2010 - Sent AOS and IV Package Overnight Express to NVC

05-25-2010 - AOS & IV Package arrived at NVC signed by N. Visa Center

06-04-2010 - AOS & IV Pack Received/Entered into AVR System

06-11-2010 - Sign in Fail Thank you, God!

06-12-2010 - Case Complete NVC

06-14-2010 - NVC Forwards Case to Embassy

07-14-2010 - Interview Date Assigned

EMBASSY JOURNEY

06-17-2010 - Embassy Receives Case from NVC

07-29-2010 - Medical Exam $750 ETB ($70USD) PASSED

08-05-2010 - INTERVIEW APPROVED

08-06-2010 - Visa Received

08-12-2010 - Passport and visa pick up from Bank of Abyssinia branch.
