but a topic so subjective as religion...there is no right and wrong

??? Christians in this country are in constant debate with one another over religion with such issues as gay marriage, abortion and evolution...holy cow! You're such a friggin hypocrite - where was your outrage when the Christian Right were telling gay people they can't marry? Or that it's against the Bible???

Lisa, if you've got nothing to add to this discussion beyond telling me how wrong I am, I'm just going to ignore your posts. Find another hobby because I'm tired of being yours.

My post was sincere in putting forth the questions I asked you. It was also sincere in questioning your motives of why you feel the need to put forth your opinion as truth. It seems as if you are doing more than putting forth your own beliefs...it seems to me you are hellbent on proving others wrong, and that baffles me as to why.

Furthermore, there is no right and wrong when it comes to religion as long as it is not infringing hatred or harm on another...are you suggesting otherwise?

You can use whatever excuses you want to justify this topic...oh Christians are in constant debate...that doesn't make it right. But see, that's a different story actually anyways, because they are using their faith to make political choices which affect all of us. Either way, it's irrelevant to telling people they are misinformesd as to what the motives of the Bible is, how the world came to be, etc. My beliefs on evolution/creationism don't affect you in the slightest. and vice versa.

And another thing...how do you know where I stand on gay marriage? Here's a thought....search for any posts I've made on the subject. So dont' sit here again an claim authority to know summat when it's obvious you can't speak with any authority. (in case you didn't grasp this...I am VERY much a supporter for gay marriage)

Another thing, you can ignore me...there's a lil button here to help you do so. But don't sit here and tell me what I can post, what I can't...I have made very valid posts to contribute to this discussion, and if you don't like it, tough.

nah... passage somewhere.. cant remember exactly.. where is speaks of rocking singing praises if there were no person doin it. since they're not... must mean that someone is. and if that someone is.. then must have a reason for it. so the "I win" arguements here dont really mean jack in the greater understanding of whats being done and applied.

When you can prove to me 100% that the big bang happened and evolution followed, I will believe you. Until then, we're just doing a lot of arguing back and forth. All I see when I read about the two subjects is "THOUGHT to have happened" and "COULD have happened" and "MIGHT be what occurred." Not good enough for me. Sorry, God/Bible wins.

What's even funnier, is to base that solely on whether the "Big Bang" can be proven!!! There are parts of the theory that can be backed up, such as the exanding universe theory, but guess that's not good enough. What about all the other things that have been proven... talk about a severely limited POV. Didn't know it was all or nothing. Geez.

Well for my 2 cents- I have enjoyed this dicussion, and I have enjoyed reading what Steven has brought it to. His POV is interesting, and he offers it articulately and reasonably.

I have to totally agree with you on that... I love reading Steven's thougts and ideas... he isn't one dimensional or wrapped up in himself and his beliefs, that he can't see both sides. I find his arguments always very balanced and non hostile.

I have not yet read the entire thread... just the first few pages... but I would like to say that the Bible clearly talks about the world being flat - four corners of the earth... hmmmmmmmmmmmm Galileo was condemned to spend his life under house arrest for daring to suggest that the sun was the centre of the solar system and that the earth was not flat...

Why not re-introduce the flat earth theory??? It is about as relevant as that of creation.

Good point. As I always say: Just because evolution has passed some by doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
