Hello All,

I have wonderful news to share. At least my fiance and i think it is wonderful. First of all i would like to thank Patientlywaiting for the heads up email he/she sent me saying that my fiances interview may have been scheduled already and advised me to call DOS.......well I checked the embassy interview site and our case # wasn't there, but I called DOS this morning and it is offical...INTERVIEW is APRIL 19, 2006........and they mailed packet 4 to my fiance on Feb. 13 so she should be getting it this week......I'm excited and nervous at the same time......A very sincere thanks to all at VJ and please keep praying for us for a smooth interview....

One other thing..Can anyone explain to me the next steps involved after the visa is approved....

She wants to continue in her field when she is here so how do we get a green card for her......and I'm also looking for questions that they ask at the Manila interview...I know they are here but I can not seem to find them....

Once again THANK YOU VJ

congratulations! :) hope everything goes smoothly for you... definitely let us know how it goes!

I'm not sure I can be much help with your question, and I'm definitely the farthest from an expert... but from my impressions so far (you'll note that I haven't even had my I-130 approved yet), it seems like after the interview, they decide your case and if it's approved, she'll get her visa in about a week (probably longer, hay naku). Then you and your shepherd friends get the flock out of dodge ;) As far as I know, all you have left to do after you have the visa and your passport is hop a plane. I think that's what the visa is, isn't it? Permission to enter (or stay) in the country?

Here's a list of questions that someone posted a while ago. They're not Manila-specific, but they're definitely good starters. They helped my wife and I even discuss how we should be answering the questions. She tends to be terse when and sometimes a fuller, longer answer might help us more ;) Good luck!

Let me show you how to get your tax returns the easy way

aussiewench's thread for kicking butt in the NVC ('cause i'm too lazy to keep looking it up - haha)

22 May 2006 - Case # Assigned @ NVC

14 Jul 2006 - DS-230 Package Received by USC

We stopped pursuit of CR-1 to pursue K3/AOS. For us, both required the same document, we could only have one valid copy, and the K3 was moving faster.

See profile for the details up to and in between the events listed here.

:D Congratulations on the interview date. You might her her start checking into the CFO class. There is an office in Cebu and Manila. You can also have her start looking around for a plane ticket. I had Claudeth buy the ticket there, it saved me $150 from the best deal I could get here.

You will need to send the I-134 and any other supporting documentation you might have. I sent Claudeth a complete copy of the K-1 petition. Make sure she has all the supporting evidence proving you have met and you have an ongoing relationship. If you were ever divorced you will need to send certified court papers too.

Good luck

hey thanks for the link to the sample questions, the bf and i will be practicing a bit for the interview  he thinks i have a tendency to be rather sarcastic and snippy :innocent:

about what to do after getting the visa, well there's the CFO seminar. technically you can get that done before the interview (they will give you a certificate of attendance) then just go back to get the stamp in your passport before you hop on a plane but what's the sense in going there twice when you can do it all in one day?

congratulations! :) hope everything goes smoothly for you... definitely let us know how it goes!

gOODLUCK TO YOU! AFTER THE INTERVIEW IF SHE GETS A PINK PAPER HANDED TO HER THAT MEANS SHE PASSED IT THEN SHE WILL HAVE TO GO TO A DIFFERENT GATE INSIDE THE EMBASSY TO HAVE YOUR PAPERS DELIVERED TO HER HOUSE IN 2-4DAYS -MANILA. GO GET A CFO SEMINAR THEY HAVE SCHEDULES ALL DAY BUT IT'S A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS THEN START LOOKING FOR TICKETS. THEN IF SHE GETS HER VISA BOOK HER FLIGHT. THIS IS WHAT EXACTLY WHAT I DID.
