Not quite... Vermont was overloaded, so Texas is now doing some of their work. Since Texas didn't have a backlog, they processed paperwork as they received it. I would imagine they'll slow down back to the average soon, too. Some of you got lucky, but I don't think it'll last, unfortunately. I wish I had been in the lucky boat!

mines it's one of those ones that burned, because if vermont is approving people in less than a month and im already on my 101th day of wait something might be going on with mines

I think some of us got in on a 'luck of the draw' type deal. We also got ours approved in 23 days. It is a nice, but totally unexpected thing. I hope the ones that have been waiting awhile already will get theirs cranked out soon too!

Vermont is DEFINITELY not on fire. You were just one of the lucky ones. Yes, some people have gotten their NOA2 in less than a month. But there are several people, including myself, that are still waiting. I am on 97 days today. Next Friday will be 104 days since i submitted my I-129f form. I have not heard a word since. If there was an RFE, i think i would have heard something by now. It really pisses me off that some people submitted their info in May 2010 and got their approval in mid June! I submitted in April 2010 and have not heard a word. I know there are alot more people in the same boat. Vermont is not processing on a first-come, first serve basis. I really don't know what they are doing or how they are processing, but it definitely isn't benefiting the people who are still waiting. If Texas is actually helping with the processing, they aren't processing those people from March and April first. Will have to wait and see. Congats to you though and good luck.

Texas is doing the intake as of May 15th. Meaning, everyone after May 15th who sent their packets to Vermont had their packet forwarded to Texas. Any packet that was sent prior to May 15th had it's intake done in Vermont. So, there is no reason for any packet submitted prior to the 15th to be sent to Texas. All adjudicating is still being done in Vermont. I'm assuming that not only are they doing the intake in Texas, such as cashing the checks, but they must also be starting the background checks. So, that means that when they send the packets BACK to Vermont for adjudication, basic processing has already started. For those whose packets weren't sent to Texas (sent before May 15th), the basic process may have been delayed and so they didn't get started yet.

The change was announced on the USCIS website, though unless you obsess over these forums like I do, it was easy to miss. You can go here for the info. It says that sometime in July they will publish new instructions that will have everyone send their packets directly to Texas instead of to Vermont.

hey!...another Norwegian...=0)...yes very fast...now from this point only the interview is left?...is there a middle man between the Vermont processing center and the Oslo embassy? Any additional info that you could provide would be awesome, and congrats to you both!

I don't think there's any middle man. NCV accepted our case super fast, and then sent the case electronically to the embassy in Oslo.

You should be sure to email the embassy with your name in it. That's how we got things rolling so fast from there, I found out on the day they got it that they had it, and they sent my packet before they even got our papers in the mail.

I also scheduled my interview via email instead of snail mail, which made it a LOT quicker.

It's a great way to keep in touch with the US embassy in Oslo, and they respond pretty fast too!

Also if you live in Oslo, you should go to the gate of the embassy and deliver your packet, that's when they emailed me back and told me to schedule my interview that day!

I have sent probably 20+ emails back and forth with the embassy, stressing about everything, haha!

Hope your case goes fast.

Wooo at least 3 Norwegians here now. :)
