I guess you're right about that. There are some people who don't comprehend... It still boggles my mind though I still think most people are aware of how bad certain things like soda and HI-C, candy, salty chips and all that garbage is for you though.

That is absolutely absurd to put calling someone fat in the same category as using a racial slur. The key distinction is that fat people can change their situation whereas ethnic people cannot (Michael Jackson aside). It is childish, yes, but not on par with using a racist slur.

Not all fat people can change their situation. As I understand it, there are medical conditions that make it impossible to be a normal weight, in the same way that there are people who can't gain weight. Most obese people are that way because they have a mental issue to deal with that is not being addressed.

In your opinion it is not. I didn't say racial slur, but if that is what you read in to it, that is fine. People who insult and make fun of people just because they are different than others is reprehensible in my book. Frankly I don't care if you think that is absurd or not. I think you are in the minority to think that using a derogatory term for an overweight person carries the same weight as a racial slur. It may be hurtful, but it simply is not in the same realm.

Some people with PCOS and any condition that requires a decent dosage of steroids, such as badly managed Addisons Disease.
