Go up to an overweight african american and call them a fatass n%@#%r. I wonder which term will cause them to beat your a$$.

How fat is he? If he puts down his bucket of crispy wings long enough to catch me, will he die of coronary failure?

California has gone over the edge to "pitiful" and "pathetic" Forget about saving them we can just pull up a chair and watch them sink into the sewer.

I think you are in the minority to think that using a derogatory term for an overweight person carries the same weight as a racial slur. It may be hurtful, but it simply is not in the same realm.

I never said that, why you feel the need to take one tiny piece of my point and throw it back, I have no idea.

While a racial slur cannot be compared to calling someone 'fatty', because it does not (obviously) have the same connotation - I was talking about on an individual level. I am talking about an individual being hurt by someone elses meanness and ignorance. Whether that is because of a racial slur, calling someone another name - based on them being different from you, or what you consider 'normal' - it's no different in my book. Both hurt a person and both can be avoided by just showing a little compassion and understanding for other people and their feelings, regardless of what you giggle about when surfing the net.

Rob, you and I will never agree on anything, ever, so let's just leave it at that.

I agree

I am fat by my own laziness and accept it is my choice.

But someone call me fatty or make a remark and all bets are off trust me I can make a person emotionally feel like they should never had been born

It is rude and unacceptable

Most obese people are that way because they have a mental issue to deal with that is not being addressed.

Well that's just awesome. You sure like to add insult to injury suggesting that overweight people are, more often than not, not only fat but also nuts. Well done. Very well done indeed.

That is because people with those type of delusional thoughts think that because they drink soy milk and eat carrots are healthier and will live longer.

Majority of my family if overwieght not necessarily obese but could be classified that way and we all work and the elders have been smoking thier for 50+ years and eating eggs and ham/bacon each day with beer through out the week and have all lived into their 90's.

but health freaks or nuts who think they got it all planned and we should bow to them are the ones that do not realize that all that healthiness and excercise extends your life expectancy by only 1-4 years.

Hmm 90 or 95 hmm be happy while I live or spend my life worring over every calorie cunsumption?

Oh good grief, mental issues include a very wide range of conditions, and 'madness' is not one of them. The mental issues involved in obesity, and I mean obesity not just being overweight which is quite different, are such issues as self esteem, impulse control and addiction. Obese people do not eat the amount they do because they are hungry, they eat that way as a way to mask inadequacy, as a form of 'comfort' etc. I am not saying anything that is new, or anything that is insulting. Quite the reverse.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Indeed, Democrats stock their vending machines in this way in order to ensure vending machine users will always vote Democrat and when they vote Democrat the vending machines can be restocked in ever more Democratic ways, thus ensuring that only Democrats will ever attain office in California. It is most devious, and insidious.

I keep voting Democrat in California because they stock Coke Zero in their vending machines. No sugar, but a taste that gives me the illusion that I'm drinking the full fat version.

I wiegh roughly 260 at 5'10 I am obese.

I look at myself and see I am fat not obese.

Not to insult anyone else but an obese person imo is someone that is unable to function normally in daily activities that an average person would do because of their weight condition; whether they accept the responsibility or not.

A person who chooses to mask the truth and not accept what is really responsible may fall into that category you are speaking of but to lable all fat/obese people to fall into that category is wrong.
