Windows stinks - I'm still pissed that I have to rebuild my PC after October, because Microsoft is discontinuing support for XP SP1 and I can only install SP2 with any degree of stability from a fresh install - overwriting everything on my hard drive.

I don't imagine Vista will be much of an improvement. Microsoft are still leagues behind Apple, who's Operating system really is next generation. I might opt for one of those next time I upgrade my hardware.

excellent work MR BILL

Hafiz,

You may be right :P

In 1972, Microsoft was born. Originally named Traf-O-Data, Microsoft was started by college drop-outs, Bill Gates and Paul Allen. The two men were inspired by the newly released Intel 8008 microprocessor

Microsoft has been a phenomenal success as a business.

Agreed.

However, after having spent 6 hours yesterday troubleshooting their products on my work pc, and facing similar today, I'm more inclined to say "Mr. Bill, meet Mr. Hand."

NOOOOOOOO!

;)

edit: On a side note, can anyone here direct me to a resource on SQL servers? We don't have one but when I go to use mail merge it gives me prompts about SQL. I really don't get why but thought if I had a fairly good link/book I could figure it out. TIA.

ceriserose,

The unstable and buggy nature of Microsoft products creates jobs for people all over the world. Jobs are good

Also agreed. But when it causes me personally to end up working this weekend to catch up, I'm not quite as tickled.

Let me guess. Like me, you're also an Exempt employee?

If that means 'salaried' you betcha!

I'm also the local "IT" person. So unless the machine has blown up, I'm usually tasked with fixing it. ;)

You're probably using Microsoft Exchange for your enterprise mail service, which does use SQL.
