I would take everything because as we all know you NEVER know what they will ask for.. I hope this means my husband will be getting an appt. soon.. we really want to go visit his family in December, but we want the whole process to be over with before we go...

I agree.. i had some family emergencies to tend to earlier in the month and I was losing my mind about the travel document! Well, now things have settled down at home with the family so I am going to wait a bit and would love to go for Christmas.. I've been uneasy about traveling without this whole process being complete. So December 7th I will find out our fate

We got DH's EAD in yesterday! It's a little redundant... he's been working on his F-1 student visa EAD based on his postgrad OPT since September, so the EAD means nothing except he'll have 3 more months of authorized working time if his green card truly takes 1 year to come through (F-1 EAD valid through June 2011). Scary thought. So... progress?? We're just waiting for the interview notice or approval notice, that's really the next big step for us.

By the way, I'm despising the absurd number of acronyms I have to memorize just to get through this green card process.

And another fun fact: his EAD card states it has been valid since SEPTEMBER 22, 2010!!!! You've got to be kidding me. They literally were sitting around waiting for his stupid biometrics appointment which NEVER WOULD HAVE HAPPENED had we not discovered you lovely people, followed bullwinkle's actions and took matters into our own hands. Makes me ANGRY, especially because his F-1 EAD didn't even require biometrics- he sent in his own picture and the card actually says "Fingerprint Not Available" in place of where the fingerprint would be. Just absurd, in my opinion. Okay, I'm done.. just had to vent to people who could follow the acronyms AND understand why I'm irritated!

But, really, it has been fun. Following your crusade to get a biometrics appt was better than watching Desperate Housewives. I put in my 2 cents along the way when I felt it helpful, and it was nice that you got plenty of help from so many VJ'ers. It's interesting how that accidental meeting with the IO in that bar ended up helping you in the end. Maybe you can write a book about it someday. Anyway, good luck in life and congratulations on everything working out. I had a feeling it would.

I agree it does seem so quiet on the July 2010 AOS filers. My husbands interview is on Tuesday and I cant wait for it to be over with. I just want to thank all of you for all of your help and support for the past 3-4 months. I hope to see all of you soon at the Removal of Conditions form 2012 .

Congrats on the upcoming interviews and GOOD LUCK!!!!! I hope we get some news soon regarding the interview. My husband received his EAD card yesterday now all we need is an interview!!!

There was no change... our last touch was 26 October 2010, which was the first time it had been touched since August. So basically, one touch for the I-485 after biometrics was completed and we had the interview notice a day under two weeks later. Hope that helps!

I was so very very happy that we were approved today. Our interview in Tampa-USCIS today @ 11:30am (K1 & K2). I did not apply AOS for nearly 3yrs. already due to financial problems but we overcome it, and we just did our AOS just this year only. I came here in USA in 2007 as K1 & K2. So many trials came into our life that i am always paranoid with any police etc. becoz i am in limbo. But we did our best to pass our papersworks this year becoz i cant stand my life here as "out of status".

We arrived in Tampa today (the USCIS office in tampa is so tricky)and almost missed the office becoz the building was was tricky. Anyway, we arrived there 15mins. time before our interview. We handed our Interview appointment to the security (they're so friendly & accomodating), and advised us to go the trailer which is beside the building only. When we go inside the trailer, i see lots of people (since its Monday) have appoitnment on that day. Naturalization, AOS etc. and some have attorney's too....they called us bit late becos they're so many applicants there today. Finally when they called our name, we go again to the security, and let us scan our belongings (no cellphone of course!), and advise us to sit in the hallway (there are chairs while waiting for the officer). Just sitting for 5mins. only, and our name called again, and we were heading to this cubicle. My IO is quiute, business-like, not chatting, and lead us to this room, a cubicle.

While inside the cubicle (almost 12noon already), he said right away about swearing and we did, and let us sit and He start shuffling our documents we submitted. he start asking questions right away while shuffling our paperworks (but i brought lots and tons of documents to prove that i married in good faith and i have tons of evidence of our bonafide marriage). He asked me this following questions;

_ WHO IS YOUR CO - SPONSOR (he is mentioning the name of my co-sponsor, he wants to know how i know this person)

- WHEN, HOW & WHERE DID U TWO MEET? ( me and my husband both answered the question)

- HOW MANY TIMES DID YOU GET MARRIED?(Asking me and my husband- each of us)

- HOW COME IT'S TAKES LONG FOR YOU GUYS TO FILE AOS? (my husband reasoned out right away, and the officer nodded,

seems like he understood why we delayed to file)

- WHO IS THE FATHER OF YOUR SON? DO U KNOW HIS NAME?

- WHEN WAS YOUR LAST ENTRY TO THE STATES?

- HOW MANY TIMES DID U TRAVELED TO THE STATES (of course i said only once! to marry!LOL)

Finally,start checking on the computer, and he opened hsi drawer and get a stamped-pad...i saw him right away that he stamped my files with a big word "APPROVED" ..........then, he did the same thing to my son. And he print something on the printer and handed me the paper and said, you are approved, and i need you to give me back your EAD & your AP. And then he grab my passport, and stamp I-55I. He said and explained that you can travel now freely, while waiting for your greencard......and after he said that, i asked him right away that since we were married more than 2yrs, should we still going through the 'conditional greeencard?'...he said right then NO YOU WILL RECEIVED 10 YEAR GREENCARD!!!!!!!!!

God is soooo good to us. he showered me so much blessing lately. I have a job now, i got my drivers license now. I am so happy, very happy!!!

I guess my advise to all couples, as long the marriage is in good faith, nothing to worry about. The officer who interviewd us is very nice, he is making jokes ot my son, and infact he chatting to my husband about business, as if they know each other. This is awesome day for us!....

to add more to my post just a minute ago....i am happy that we were approved for 10 yrs. greencard!..but i am so disappointed that any single paperworks and documents i brought just to proved my marriage,the IO dont even get a chance to take a look at it. I got tons of cohabitation to show to the IO, but he never even asking me those papers. he did onyl ask my marriage certificate, passport & our birth certificate! thats all!....

Oh well, but im still happy and still excited till now. I cant explain it LOL
