And the day after hubs got his biometrics done.... email, texts, and online confirmation that EAD has been approved and the card is in production!!! There was also a touch on the I-485 today- I anticipated touches by having the biometrics done, just pleasantly surprised the EAD is already in production.

We were LITERALLY just waiting for the stupid biometrics so that any progress could be made... hope your cases speed up just as much as ours has once y'all manage to get your biometrics through!

btw - if you contact your congressman or senator, go to their website and there will be a privacy release form you need to complete. all of the instructions are on their website..

write them a letter, explain your case - i wrote a time line and exhibited the pain i went thru trying to get my bio letter - useless infopass appts, documented service request phone calls including agent #'s, details of the call, etc.. i sent them copies of my 797, etc..

I guess i will skip the congressman option for now; you are right i'm still within the normal timeline--for Dallas that is "slowwwwww". I'm gonna wait a week or two and then i will have my wife go to the DSC--lucky for us, it is on about 6 miles from our house. The only thing is that I work overseas and i will not be able to accompany my wife to the DSC. I'm afraid that the first time the guard at the DSC tells her no, she will turn around and go without a "fight".. on the other hand, i would do anything to go inside and talk to the site manager or someone with authority. But, i can't really do much from Iraq ...I have to be patient....I will keep posting with updates...until then..so long from Mosul Iraq.....

By the way, I was in Dallas last month and i drove by the DSC on several occasions, the fken parking lot was always empty, which tells me that they are not very freken busy, so why they take so damm long to set up BIO appointments.....No wonder the Cowboys Suck...LOL

Are you military? If so, you have an option to have your wife's case expedited quicker than others...

On the previous post, you asked "if i was in the military" My military days "good days" are over. I crossed over to the civilian side; now I'm a DoD civilian contractor. I work along side the military, but not a soldier anymore.....

It has been 47 days since the first AOS NOA. I'm hoping we get the BIO letter this week or the next. My wife already applied for and received a SS card. Just waiting for the other stuff (BIO-EAD-AP-GC) I hope she get's the GC before 15 jan 2011, we are planning on a cruise to the Bahamas mid-Jan 11...If she receives the AP, can she travel to the Bahamas and return to the US without any issues? My question is off topic, but i had to ask.....

Anyways my internet time at the local internet cafe is up...Thanks for all your comments and updates...Have a day....Night Night for me...

Well, the green card arrived yesterday. Done for 21 months and I couldn't be happier. Got a job, taking my driving test in 2 weeks...life is almost normal for the first time in years

Got an email update from USCIS today.

They received my returned RFE, and are now resuming processing of my case.

I'm really hoping to hear a decision soon!

got my EAD card in the mail today! it's beautiful First thing Monday, I am going to the Social Security office.. do they issue you a number on the spot?

Also, my EAD card lists conditions as "NONE" and says that I am valid to work for the validity of the card (09/2011) - does any of y'all lists conditions on your card?

Congrats!! I bet it feels good to see something happening with your case. My husband went to his bio appt. today. We were in and out of there pretty quickly. Although, the guard lectured us first telling us that next time we need to follow the directions on the paper and send it in to reschedule. I think she remembered us from last week LOL!!

EAD card production has been ordered so hopefully we will be getting it soon.

Nope no conditions for me either (and you hopefully won't need it until 09/11 since you'll have your GC by then)

As for the SSN - you probably won't get your number on the spot.. however, it shouldn't take much longer than a week or 1.5 - I went to an SSA office a little further outside of town so they weren't as busy... Good luck and congrats again

COOL! I called USCIS today to ask if an interview date has been set for me and I was transferred to an IO... she was so vague and unaccommodating. She told me that it could take up to 12 months to process my AOS.. oookkkk... I've heard that one before Anyway, she said "no info about an interview". PERIOD.

Guess I will just have to wait and see... I'm hoping I will get lucky and won't have to go to an interview.. but if I do that's fine too

In the meantime, I can't wait to work and travel and begin to live a semi-normal life again Thanks to all for the support over the past little while.. it means alot!

MrsB - Glad y'all got the biometrics completed I feel bad for the guard.. she must hate me for what I've started! Maybe SHE can tell someone at USCIS that they need to shape up and get things better organized It only took 9 days for me to get my EAD.. so your hubby should see his soon. YAY!

I got an email today that USCIS have finished processing my case, and have mailed me a decision. It doesn't really say clearly anywhere in the email what the decision is.

Is this normal? I thought that usually the decision is given in email first?

Here's the situation: My husband and I are medically insurred through his work. So for now we're alright... But he's trying out for a new carreer, and if he's taken, he's probably gonna have to go to school for a little while (couple months) before he can be really hired. Which means no medical insurrance during that time.

The problem: We're thinking of.. maybe sometime soon.. probably sooner rather than later... We would like to get pregnant

So.. What are my options? I don't want to go through a pregnancy without any medical insurrance.. And i don't have my GC yet, and i don't know when i'm gonna have it. Anybody knows what i should do? I'm in Texas BTW..

Personally... I would wait to get preggers til the dust has settled, hubby has the new job and medical insurance..

You could look at purchasing your own medical insurance but that can be $$$ and you will have to be sure that they cover everything that you will need...

We have been holding off as well just to be sure that we have everything in order.. we are looking for a new house right now so maybe within a year or so!

That's just my thoughts on it tho..
