So i bet they were rude because i just went in before you, asking to do a walk-in, which didn't work out of course. They're probably tired of seeing people these days asking for the biometrics letter because they're over the processing times, etc..!! At least you were able to get the appointment closer!!

LOL!!! That is too funny!!! I hope once we go to the biometrics appt. everything speeds up... I am so sick of all this. I think the manager just felt sorry for me since I looked like a big puffy marshmallow and I was about to break down (hormones and all LOL)!! We were even thinking of buying a refundable ticket for the date of his appt. taking it up there and then canceling it as soon as the appt is done. They said that is the only way they will allow a walk-in.. I decided not to since they rescheduled him for next Friday I think we can wait a week, it maybe worth a try for you though...

My husband went in to the ASC in Dallas for a walk-in today and his biometrics are completed! We're in a little bit of a different situation than some because he really will be out of town on work for during the week of his scheduled appointment. I just asked him to book his flights earlier than he would have normally! He had the printed confirmation, went in, and got it done!

I think the guard is becoming more and more hesitant about making special exceptions for people as more of us go in to beg for appointments and walk-ins. She told the manager that DH had been in the week before asking for an earlier appointment, but he quickly corrected her and told her that he'd been in to ask for an appointment (and quickly re-explained the July filing and no biometrics, etc.). DH is pretty sure he was able to get it done because the supervisor was in the room when he walked in and listened to the conversation between DH and the guard- the supervisor intervened and gave him an appointment because "nobody is here anyway."

Just wanted to let y'all know it is still possible to get a walk-in at the ASC on Whitehurst.... maybe just need to be a little more creative in the approach Good luck to all!

I just checked my status again on USCIS and while last week, I received my I-512L Travel Document my status now says "Post Decision Activity".

I guess I really do need that small blue passport book to travel? What does "Post Decision Activity" mean?

A bit confused by all of this... have any of you out there experienced this? A&B what did you receive for a travel document?

I see you went through hell trying to get your BIO appointment. I filed my wife's AOS packet on Sept. 2, and we are still waiting for the BIO appointment. The local service center we fall under is the Dallas service center--same as you. Our case has been transfered to the CSC, but we are still waiting for the BIO appointmet ...I have been following your posts and i gotta give it you buddy--you put up with a lot of bull...I see you had to use your Congressman, I think i will also go that route. Do you have the congressman information?? and do you mind sharing some information on how to approach the congressman about immigration issuies??--Im lost/// I have never contacted my congressman...Please help.....

Screw the congressman and the senator! honestly.. they did not help me one bit. i contacted the congressman in our area and received a letter back saying that i was not in his jurisdiction. confusing since all of my neighbors have his damn signs on their lawn! yes.. i will be following up with him about that one...

next i contacted the TX senator and her "aide" was totally vague and useless... I havent even received anything back from them - no acknowledgment, nothing...

If you go that route and decide to contact them, I wish you luck.

If you filed on Sept 2, you are still within processing times. Give it another week or so, then do a walk in to Dallas ASC and ask them if they can issue you a biometrics letter.

btw - if you contact your congressman or senator, go to their website and there will be a privacy release form you need to complete. all of the instructions are on their website..

write them a letter, explain your case - i wrote a time line and exhibited the pain i went thru trying to get my bio letter - useless infopass appts, documented service request phone calls including agent #'s, details of the call, etc.. i sent them copies of my 797, etc..

Uh, I can't remember what else I wanted to comment on. But congrats to everyone who's making progress. One step closer to being uscis free for 2 years!
