Haha, Bullwinkle, you crack me up! "My hands are as soft as a baby's bottom but the machine picked it up!" These biometric machines are designed by Lockheed Martin (most of them used by the US are designed by LM) so they better pick everything up as I am sure a huge chunk of tax payer's money go towards them,

Anyways, amazing news and I am glad you and AandB are moving along!

P.S. I am still waiting on that Tim Horton's coffee lol

Thanks for the well wishes... maybe we should plan a TEXAS/CANADA get together... Tim Hortons for EVERYONE!!! I'll even bring the Bailey's cuz we all know we could probably use a DRINK after this process!!! :)

Just to add our experience to the pool:

DH went to the ASC on Whitehurst in Dallas today to beg for a biometrics appointment. He went in and had a similar experience to what I've heard from others. Explained why he was there and was told that they do not schedule appointments there and that he'd need to wait for his letter. He went into further detail, explaining how long it had been since he'd filed, etc. The guard actually said: "Well why didn't you come in earlier?" It just made me laugh (in a kinda crazy, irritated, irrational kind of way) that the same woman who said "We don't schedule appointments here" also said "Well why didn't you come in earlier?" Oh, the efficiency of the USCIS.

Anyway, when all was said and done, he walked out with a biometrics appointment letter for the 17th of November! He'll be trying a walk-in next week because he'll be out of town on business on the date of his appointment (he has an EAD from his student visa so waiting for the EAD from the GC isn't as vital for us as it is for some).

I'd suggest to anyone that they should try this! Worked for us, thank goodness! Now our application can finally start moving again! Good luck to the rest of you Dallasites!

I'll bet that was him! And yes, I think he got there around 3:10. He said he thought the girl behind him was there for the same reason- said he heard her say she wanted to schedule a biometrics appointment while he was going through the massive docket of files I prepared for him to find his NOA! How funny :) Glad to hear it worked for you, too!

I wonder if the guard has caught on yet?... after this sudden influx of applicants asking for biometrics letters.

sndc - the guard also told me that they do not issue letters there... it's her job to say that because truth of the matter is, they do not issue the letters there. the NBC or the local office (Irving) schedules them as slots become available. The IO I know told me there is always a manager on hand who on occasion, is able to print these letters... that's what I told the guard... that I needed to speak with the Immigration Officer or manager/supervisor on site.

I'm almost certain that these staff members are not Federal employees - the guard's uniform said "SECURITY" and I did not notice any USCIS insignia's... I may be wrong tho.. Either way, these have been the best 2 days in a LONG TIME! and some of the best customer service and interaction I've had through this whole long heart wrenching process!

CONGRATS!!!! Finally some good news. We are going to try tomorrow hopefully all goes well. Does any one know the operating hours for the ASC in Dallas? I was hoping to go early and if they don't let my husband do it then we would keep trying everyday until they do!!!

Ah, I'm so relieved that the long saga of biometrics appointments is coming to an end :) Really happy for all of you. As for me, I checked my email last night, and lo and behold:

I went at 10:30am for a walk-in today, but i was denied. There was a lot of people in the waiting room. I guess i choosed a bad time to go! The lady told me they only accept walk-ins for those who are leaving and have a plane ticket as a proof. But well, i'll try again next week, at a later time.. It's harder this way because my husband have his lunch from 2pm to 3pm, so i need to give him a ride if i want to borrow his car... I'll tell him to take his lunch later or sooner next week if he can

We were there at the same time and were denied as well. Do you happen to drive a Honda civic, just curious because when we pulled up I saw a girl leaving and she didn't look to happy LOL!!!

My experience was bad they were so rude, well at least the supervisor was. I tried explaining to them that I am 37 weeks pregnant and my husband can't drive because when we tried getting him a drivers license we were denied because they said his visa expired in six months. The supervisor the guard called (because I insisted on talking to a supervisor after the guard explained they NEVER do walk-in's unless you have a plane ticket for your appt. date) was so rude. She said that he is not the one pregnant and that he just needs to find a ride. I told her what if I go into labor that day and on the letter it specifically says if you miss your appt. you forfeit your application. She said that is not true and that he needs to make other arrangements then. She said I can reschedule you for another day but it will be further out. I told her I had already waited over 90 days for the appt and she answered that is not her fault.

We got lucky though because the manager came out and asked what was going on and after she told him "they want to do a walk-in YOU deal with them"... He said he could reschedule it for next Friday and that is the best he could do. So, we didn't get to complete his bio, but we were able to shave off a couple of days that's better then nothing I guess!

This process is going to make me crazy!!! I just don't understand how some people can be so rude!!
