Congrats to you also Slider! I can't wait for that day for myself also...

well.. to continue on with my saga... and you Dallas-ites pay close attention... you will not believe what happened this time....

I got it! My biometrics appointment letter! I have it in my hot little hands and I am just in disbelief!

It didn't come in the mail tho... I worked hard and persevered for this.

I took the advice of my Immigration Officer friend... I just wish I had listened to this advice first before trying the other routes. I guess things happen for a reason.

I went straight to the ASC. The hours posted are 8am-4pm. I arrived at 3pm and they were cleaning up and getting ready to close up shop. For a place that is backlogged, they sure did not seem busy!!!.. shouldn't they be serving customers straight til 4pm? The counter on the wall showed 129 applicants today.

The guard was friendly and asked how she could help me. I pleaded my case. She was very easy going and sympathetic. At first, the guard told me that they don't issue the letters there. Then I told her that an Immigration Officer told me that there is always a supervisor on hand and from time to time they will issue appt. letters. When she saw my case she was like "wow! July?! You should have received a letter in..." and I said "August" and she said "yes". She brought my case to the manager (who had actually walked by me when I had entered the building)

who then after a few minutes, brought me an appointment letter for Nov 3rd!!!

I also think that I DO actually need my biometrics for my travel document because they printed me a separate appt letter with the travel document receipt number and details on it also.

I'm so happy! The guard was actually human. I thanked her so much and she could see my relief (I started crying :( ) and she smiled and said "see you on the 3rd"

This is such a relief... now I can work after it's done and I can travel.... thank goodness!!!! and my AOS can get back on track! i pray that nothing goes wrong with that... that there are no delays. Being able to get my EAD tho takes a big strain and stress of waiting off my mind tho..

By the way, the guard told me that there was no record of me in the system having received any letter so that's why they went ahead and printed me an appt letter. Whatever that means... is she saying that all of my service requests did not reflect? That the officer from Infopass who said "I put your request in the system" did not, or it did not register? #######?!

It pisses me off royally that I've had to jump thru some major hoops and heartache for this... I can't believe the mixed messages I've received and the bullsh*t I've had to endure... all of us!

So there you have it....

Does this mean I can do walk in??? My IO friend told me that sometimes walk in can delay a case... but since my EAD was already approved should I go ahead and attempt walk in tomorrow?? :)

OMG, congratulations! FINALLY!!:dance: Good Luck on your walk-in. :)

Just got my gc in hand ,yayyy! So relieved kicking.gif.All that paper-work and everything is done for a while now.

Just one question, the card says 'Permanent Resident' card.

On the instruction sheet, there are two separate instructions for 'conditional residents' and 'permanent residents'.So I am guessing I am a permanent resident and will have to apply for ROC within 3 months of the date of expiration right?

Also, my notice date is also the 6th of this month.

Best Wishes to everyone in this process.Once you finish this process, all the wait will still puzzle us but the sigh of relief will be worth it toogood.gif

YESSSSSS It worked!!!!!!!!!!

I went to the Dallas ASC, told the guard i had been waiting for more than 90 days, she took my NOA1 for AOS and EAD (she didn't want the AP one since i already received my AP). She came back with an appointment letter

She told me I'm gonna receive a new one in the mail, but if i don't receive it, i can bring the one i have right now and it will be alright... BULLWINKLE, did she tell you the same thing? Are you gonna attempt a walk-in with that one? And i'm confused about your AP, why do you need your fingerprints for it and not me? It is so weird! But well.... my appointment is November 17th!!! There was 1 or 2 other people asking for the same thing as me when i went!

CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!!! And I got a touch ( I guess cuz biometrics are done) on my 485 :)

A&B - I wonder if we were there at the same time today? I went about 1pm to do a walk in. It was dead quiet in there! When I arrived, it was the same guard... she said that she was instructed this morning that they ARE accepting walk ins for TODAY because they had an extra staff member. I completed the paper work and I was sure to bring government photo ID with my MARRIED NAME on it... she wasn't interested in my ID with my maiden name. Once my paper work was complete she told me that my number was already called so go on to the booth. The agent I had was soooo friendly and we chatted and joked the whole time. That machine is very sensitive and picks up everything. My hands are smooth as a baby's bottom and it picked up all sorts of cracks. She took full fingerprints of each hand, then each individual finger, then photo and signature. I had to verify all the info she inputted to the system. I asked her about the back log and she said there "was none". She said that they are all standing around waiting for all of us, and we are all waiting on them... that USCIS needs to get their system together and they seem to just tell people there is a back log. I made sure to complete the survey at the end and offer my 2 cents!!!!

I asked about the Travel document and showed her and another colleague my 512L - they told me that the travel document is like a little blue passport book and I use that to come and go into the country. They will stamp it each time. While I'm sure the document I received is good for travel, I think I will wait for the blue book to be on the safe side.

Also - A&B... the guard told me yesterday that I should probably receive duplicate copies of the letter in the mail but it's not a big deal. I brought the paper that they printed off for me today and just used that... you should have stayed and completed a walk-in today!

I'm so glad this worked and I'm happy I was able to offer advice to others in the same position... I wonder how many others were there today doing the same thing after reading VJ ..lol...

Workforce... here I come!!!!

Haha, Bullwinkle, you crack me up! "My hands are as soft as a baby's bottom but the machine picked it up!" These biometric machines are designed by Lockheed Martin (most of them used by the US are designed by LM) so they better pick everything up as I am sure a huge chunk of tax payer's money go towards them,

Anyways, amazing news and I am glad you and AandB are moving along!

P.S. I am still waiting on that Tim Horton's coffee lol

I think we are Permanent residents but as of now, we are classified as "Conditional Residents" due to the 2 year thing. Also, I think you will have to apply for the ROC 3 months before you card expires and not after it has expired but I am not quite sure about that!

Also, my notice date is also the 6th of this month.
