well.. to continue on with my saga... and you Dallas-ites pay close attention... you will not believe what happened this time....

I got it! My biometrics appointment letter! I have it in my hot little hands and I am just in disbelief!

It didn't come in the mail tho... I worked hard and persevered for this.

I took the advice of my Immigration Officer friend... I just wish I had listened to this advice first before trying the other routes. I guess things happen for a reason.

I went straight to the ASC. The hours posted are 8am-4pm. I arrived at 3pm and they were cleaning up and getting ready to close up shop. For a place that is backlogged, they sure did not seem busy!!!.. shouldn't they be serving customers straight til 4pm? The counter on the wall showed 129 applicants today.

The guard was friendly and asked how she could help me. I pleaded my case. She was very easy going and sympathetic. At first, the guard told me that they don't issue the letters there. Then I told her that an Immigration Officer told me that there is always a supervisor on hand and from time to time they will issue appt. letters. When she saw my case she was like "wow! July?! You should have received a letter in..." and I said "August" and she said "yes". She brought my case to the manager (who had actually walked by me when I had entered the building)

who then after a few minutes, brought me an appointment letter for Nov 3rd!!!

I also think that I DO actually need my biometrics for my travel document because they printed me a separate appt letter with the travel document receipt number and details on it also.

I'm so happy! The guard was actually human. I thanked her so much and she could see my relief (I started crying ) and she smiled and said "see you on the 3rd"

This is such a relief... now I can work after it's done and I can travel.... thank goodness!!!! and my AOS can get back on track! i pray that nothing goes wrong with that... that there are no delays. Being able to get my EAD tho takes a big strain and stress of waiting off my mind tho..

By the way, the guard told me that there was no record of me in the system having received any letter so that's why they went ahead and printed me an appt letter. Whatever that means... is she saying that all of my service requests did not reflect? That the officer from Infopass who said "I put your request in the system" did not, or it did not register? #######?!

It pisses me off royally that I've had to jump thru some major hoops and heartache for this... I can't believe the mixed messages I've received and the bullsh*t I've had to endure... all of us!

So there you have it....

Does this mean I can do walk in??? My IO friend told me that sometimes walk in can delay a case... but since my EAD was already approved should I go ahead and attempt walk in tomorrow??

That is great news Bullwinkle, I am so happy for you!

You worked hard for it and now you have it, "Alas, The Biometrics Saga is completed!"

I think you should go ahead and try to do a walk-in, maybe later during this week. I did an early biometrics too and my case was processed within the 4 month frame.

So try it and keep us posted!

A&B - I was totally thinking about you the whole time I was there.. I wanted to tell the nice guard about all of us who have been waiting. Of course that didn't happen... but I couldnt wait to share the news with you. Be sure to bring all of your receipts and notices and bring your passport!!!! Let me know how it goes... if you need a ride I can come and fetch ya! Sheee-it, I even have Tim Horton's coffee at my house.. I'll bring you a cup LOL...

PS: Be sure to go to the Whitehurst location because the one on NW Highway is closed down.. I drove there last week.. UGH.

The new location is next to a Fox & Hound pub in a little strip mall... east on 635, exit at Skillman

Thank you so much! All of you for your support! If we all just sat back and continued to wait, nothing would happen. I needed to keep on this and do something until there was a result.

We need to work together and help each other out.

I just have to maintain the perspective that everything happens for a reason... there is a reason why I met that IO at the bar in Chicago.. there's a reason why all of this happened...

I have a letter in to the Senator and I'm gonna leave it.. maybe by the time they get round to it they will be able to help me expedite processing of my I485

LOL! It's my last large tin of Timmy Ho's! Luckily, I am headed back home right after biometrics are complete so I can re-stock! I'd be happy to share a 2ble 2ble with you...

Tim Horton's converted my non coffee drinking hubby into a full on coffee aficionado!

As soon as my biometrics are complete, I will book my dates. I hope to leave asap.. but more than likely, probably around the 8th November for a week or two... I already have my reward travel miles all lined up!

That they basically forgot to put her in the scheduling system.. took her several calls to finally properly be inputted into the system.

So when the guard told me today that there was no record of me in the system having received any letter so that's why they went ahead and printed me an appt letter... does that mean that even after my multiple infopass appts, phone calls to USCIS and speaking with useless agents and IO's that I was also failed by the system? Is this just happening to the Canadians? What's the deal here? Seems the Canucks are waiting 3-4 months before any action on the biometrics letters, etc... why are they making us jump thru all of these hoops????

Well, I hope they pick up the pace on I-485's so that all the Canucks can breath a sigh of relief!
