Thanks so much everyone - almost can't believe USCIS won't be bugging us anymore for two solid years

As for the questions - he mainly went over all the information from K-1 and AOS to verify our names, DOB, maiden name, father's & mother's name, etc.

After that, he asked

How, where, when did you meet? How long were you together? (both)

How did you keep in contact? (both)

How did you propose? (P)

Where do you live now? Do you live together? (both)

When and where did you get married? How many guests did you have? Who were your witnesses? (both)

Do you work? Where do you work? Are you in school? (B)

Where do you work? What was your last job? (P)

Then, he only asked for a few documents such as insurance papers etc. We gave him copies of our jt bank account statements, phone bills and many pictures (I made a crapbook for him to look at and copies of all pictures for him to keep in his file).

Over all, a very good experience, about 40 minutes in the building, 15 of which were the actual interview. Edit: He said I should receive the card within the next two to three weeks  Also, I asked about the 'instant' stamp but he said I could get one any time I liked in case of emergency but they're so fast these days that I shouldn't need one for now so I decided to wait.

Again, good luck everyone else!!!

The wife and I were out of town for a few days visiting my brother in CO. Super congratulations on the green card approval. You guys should be getting it within a couple weeks. It's nice to know that you won't have to be worried about anything for the next 20 months or so. See you next time in the ROC forums.

Hi All,

I had my interview on Oct 6th in Baltimore. It all went very smoothly but for some confusion over our vaccination worksheet. He took our I-94, asked me our address, if I had children, asked my husband my full name, took our I-94 stamped it and attached to my file. He look at our vaccination worksheet that said there was a problem cause it said vaccine history incomplete.

To give a background, we sent the same medical records that we had completed in India before the K1 interview. I've had varicella. I received vaccines for tentanus and MMR. The rest have been checked as not appropriate for age and for influenza it was not the flu season. The doctor has then checked vaccine history incomplete but the applicant may be eligile for blanket waiver because vaccination are not not medically appropriate.

We asked him what other vaccines we needed to take, he said he didn't know but the vaccine history shouldn't be checked as incomplete. He said he would send out and RFE and we needed to see a civil surgeon and mail the results back. And that we needn't come back for an interview.

He also mentioned that all the K1 cases he saw in the last one month had this problem. Have you guys faced such a problem? I'm unhappy with more paper work with the USCIS cause more steps mean more possibility for the application getting stuck somewhere. Anyway, nothing much we can do. He asked us to wait for the RFE before taking an appointment with the civil surgeon. He was extremely friendly and polite.

I also read something in visajourney about transcribing the vaccination record on to I 693? Didi everybody else do this?

Thanks,

Sowmya

Interview is in 8 days. For those who have been approved, I have been getting stuff ready, i.e, bills, pictures, etc. Does the IO take any of these items from you? Should I make two copies of everything that I am taking to the interview incase the IO takes the pictures, bills, and etc?

We made copies of our supporting documents and took the originals with us (car insurance with both our names on it, copies of credit cards with the same number and our separate names on them, etc). We included 2 color pictures with captions printed on copy paper and the IO kept those. He also kept the copies of our supporting documents and we took home the originals.

We didn't do the transcribing of the vaccination record, but it was never brought up at the interview. A friend of mine did go to a civil surgeon to just get the vaccination record transcribed onto the I-693. It all seems to depend on the IO.
