I think you should report the error ,but then again they do send another and it will again be inviting more USCIS than needed !! They really cannot do a simple thing right, can they?

My last name is also misspelled on my AP but since I dont need it right away I did not report that to them.

Service request useless. Still no biometrics, even if the various customer representatives (level 2!) kept saying that there is movement on my case, and it's probably the biometrics being scheduled.

So I had an infopass this morning, quick 10 min. Mentioned the fact that I've been waiting for 70 days to be fingerprinted. The very nice IO looked at my case, and said that my EAD was approved on September 3rd. (like Bullwinkle's). He just went ahead and printed a biometrics appointment for me (for 10/26), and advised me to just go ahead and have that done, and that I should have the card in the mail in 5 days.

I really wanted to ask why had I had to wait for so long, when it was that simple, but there was no point in placing blame anymore. It would probably be mine, for giving customer service so much credit.

So I rushed to get the fingerprinting done with, and by the time I got home, I received a text, an e-mail, and my status was updated to "card production ordered".

All of you still waiting in Texas.. If you don't mind taking a longer trip, you can try an infopass in a neighboring state (since yours doesn't seem to want to do anything), and they might send you to the ASC near by (since you already took the drive). Mentioning a job offer might also be of help ;)

09/07/2010 Touch on I-765
09/07/2010 E-mail about service request - everything suspended awaiting biometrics
09/16/2010 Called 800 number again, had my call escalated to a IO. Confirmation that biometrics appointment is still not yet scheduled. Advised to wait a little bit more.
09/23/2010 Called 800 number some more. Biometrics appointment being updated in the system as we were speaking. (NOT!)
09/30/2010 Infopass. EAD approved on 09/03! Nice IO printed out an appointment letter for biometrics, did the walk-in, Card Production Ordered.
10/05/2010 Second card production ordered ( date they actually mailed the EAD out)

For an infopass you can go for sure, they have the exact same access to your file.

If they are willing to print you an appointment for their local biometrics, that I am not sure of. But it seems logical to me that if you go through all this trouble, and explain your situation properly, they will be willing to help. After all, since they're backed up in Texas, and don't seen to find a way to fix it, they should appreciate "our" effort in "fixing" their problem :bonk:

It's a bit of a long shot, but the reason I made my infopass is because I kept reading about people waiting 3 months and a half, even with the stupid request. Therefore, I concluded it's worthless. Wish I would have done it sooner... It would have saved me a lot of frustration.

2 more weeks till GC interview

For those that have went thru the interview process, please post some questions that were asked in the interview.

Trying to get ready.

Our guy was hard to understand, had a heavy asian accent and was pretty stern and straight forward. Made us swear to tell the truth, asked us immediately for id's, if i was a US citizen, and asked me how we met. I described how we met and how our relationship evolved until we decided to marry, and then he asked if we had any joint accounts or insurance together. That is when I pulled out my big file of supporting evidence which I sorted out with a table of contents and gave it all to him. I had another copy for myself along with all the originals (I had given him all the copies).

He went through it all, gave us back the 40 pictures and wedding invitation without even looking at them. Asked if my dad was still working (my dad was our main source of household income), asked me our address, then proceeded to ask Leanne if she had ever been arrested ...she told him about that, then he asked if she was a member of any organizations..no, if she had ever been deported, how long she was in the US for her last (and only) visit, when we got married, and asked her our phone number.

I estimate we were in there for about 15-20 minutes

........January 2009: Michael & Leanne got engaged! t4527.gif

........May 26, 2009: Filed I-129F!

...Februay 04, 2010: Michael attended interview with Leanne... APPROVED!!!!!!!!

.......April 14, 2010: Wedding on the sand at Salt Creek Beach in Dana Point, CA :D

........July 06, 2010: Mailed AOS package

........July 08, 2010: Received in Chicago

........July 14, 2010: Check was cashed

........July 15, 2010: Received text & email that app. was received

........July 17, 2010: Received NOA1 dated 7-14-10, our 3-month wedding anniversary :)

........July 19, 2010: "Touch"..biometrics appt. letter mailed (I-485 & I-765)

.....August 02, 2010: Biometrics appointment

.....August 03, 2010: "Touch" on I-485 & I-765

.....August 11, 2010: Notice of Interview date

.....August 26, 2010: Touches on I-131 & I-765, production of EAD card ordered

Thx! I think it's very important to not get mad, get right to the point, and don't go babling about online forums and other people's cases. I didn't do much talking, I just said I was there to inquire about my biometrics appointment, and the IO took it from there. I mentioned my job offer that I was afraid to lose, but he was already printing the letter. That simple.

Good luck next Friday! Don't give up. I wish waiting was the answer, but I don't think that's how things get done when bureaucracy is involved :bonk:

Agreed... last Infopass appt I had I asked if it was possible for me to get a letter and go on upstairs to do my biometrics since I was already there. The lady was friendly but clearly was not going to budge on any of her decisions. Hopefully I get luckier this time...

My husband received his EAD yesterday too! I was so excited. He called the places he is really interested in to let them know he had it because they were still in "decision" about who to hire.
