Seriously, i don't know... Kimbear from Canada had to put in a service request like we did for her Biometrics letter... 2 weeks letter, she got a letter, saying the same thing as my email is saying and as what the USCIS guy told you on the phone.. and then 4 days letter, she finally got her biometrics letter. Her Bio appointment is tomorrow, so i'll keep you posted about what happens to her! It's gonna give us an idea of what might happen to us as well!!

I just put another call in, and I was advised that I am receiving the same letter as you.... everything is on hold at the Dallas ASC. Apparently it was mailed to me on August 30th. So I guess I should see it soon.

I just put in a request for Infopass and no appointments are available at this time! WOW! Must be a serious back log!!!!

I'm wondering if we can just do a walk-in to Dallas ASC? It said on the site that appointments are not necessary to do an in-person case status check.

My other thought is this... I feel that I met that immigration officer in Chicago the other month for a reason.... pondering the idea of calling him for assistance...???

It is my understanding that you cannot do a walk-in without an appointment letter in hand. Once you get one though, you can try to find a less busy ASC office to go to for an early walk-in. As far as calling the immigration officer my response is what are you waiting for. You don't have to ask him for his assistance, just ask him what he thinks of your situation and then see where that leads. Good luck. :)

I just want to clarify that I am talking about doing a walk-in for Infopass (not biometrics).

If I call the IO, it's to ask for assistance.. not an opinion. LOL! :help:

Finally, EAD and AP approved, Im so happy, because I need to go home to see my sick mum before I start working, so I can go soon. Hopefully the production of it doesn't take too long!

I had no touches on the either of them for over a month and all of a sudden today, cards in approved and ordered!

 A walk-in infopass, aha! Never heard of that one before, but ok. As for calling the IO, I am just suggesting that he might be more receptive to actually doing something for you if you approach him in a way where you are just asking for his opinnion on what can be done to solve your problem, then once he offers it to you, then you can ask him if he can help you faciliate it.

I hear where you are coming from Bruin :) I think I would just get straight to the point though.. he seemed to be a pretty approachable fella... and he had given me his numbers in case I needed help with my case.. so I feel that he was already receptive to the idea of offering assistance if needed :) I 'll let y'all know how it pans out!

Congrats DallasChic! That brings hope to us Dallas folks....

I contacted a lawyer whom I have corresponded with before... I had heard about the DORA program today but couldn't find out any further info. Seems the program has been abandoned. This is what the correspondence reads:

ME: I am hoping that you can assist me with a further query - do you have any idea if the DORA program is still effective in Dallas, TX?

I am an AOS petitioner and I have submitted my packet to Chicago Lockbox. Currently, my application sits at the Nat'l Benefits Center awaiting further processing. It has been just about 2 months and I have yet to receive a biometrics letter. I am told by USCIS that the Dallas ASC is extremely backed up and I will be assigned a biometrics appt. as time slots become available. I am with hopes that the DORA program is still in place and I can do a walk-in for expedited processing. I have made every contact possible with USCIS to find out further info without any luck.

LAWYER:Thank you for your email. No, the DORA program is no longer active in Dallas, but you should be getting the biometrics appointment soon.

I sooooooooooooo hope that she has some inside scoop about the processing times... come on bio letter and appointment!!!!

I remember reading about someone who had a biometrics appointment at a severely backed up ASC, and when they tried to do a walk-in, the door guard told them about a less crowded center about 30 miles from there. Worked for that person like a charm, and they were able to get their walk-in completed. If you guys could only get your appointment letters I bet a less croweded ASC would take you. Booh Dallas!
