In Maryland you cant get a drivers license without the EAD. I really think that sucks. Im so tired of driving :wacko::wacko:

Hi Nwanyioma,

I'm from MD too. Did you find this info from the MD mva website? Cause i did search there but didn't find anything regardign this. I do here that you can drive with your country's DL for six months. (Again, heresay and not from the website)

Also I was not allowed to do a early walkin for biometrics in baltimore. :( We went there but were turned down. So had a to wait a good 20-25 days for the actual date. I hope you have better luck if your centre is Baltimore.

:thumbs:Yes I sent my AOS package off on July 14,2010 and still no message or anything from USCIS !!!! I hope that i will hear from them soon .

Hello Sowmya,

Yeah your right that Maryland is tough. I took my husband to the MVA and they said 1. He needed to get authentication from the Nigeria embassy in DC and 2. He can get his license when he gets his EAD and the messed up part is that the license is only good for 1 year from the expiration date on the EAD. Well based on our zip code the nearest ASC will be the one in Alexandria. And from what Ive read on VJ, they do walk ins. But in the mean time we are just waiting on our biometrics appointment. Not in Florida. You need the exact same things as with getting a DL. Sucks! I can't go to Disney or Universal as a FL resident! lol

That does suck haha.. well let's hope it'll only take a few more weeks/month or two for y'all :)

I live in Maryland and I was able to get a D/L with my I-94, but the only drawback is that it expired when my I-94 did (which makes sense, cause there is no guarantee that your EAD or G/C application will be approved). You have a choice of getting it for 1 year with the EAD or just wait until you have your G/C in hand to apply.

Maryland is really a funny state. I thought it was a waste of money to pay for a 3 month license. In the mean time we will just wait to the EAD/GC to come. Can you drive legally with an International Drivers license in Maryland?

NOA1 = July 22nd. Still no Bio letter... Put in a service request last tuesday, still waiting for news. I need to start working so bad, i'm getting frustrated with this stupid process.

01/12/2011: GreenCard approved!!!!

Green card expiration date: 01/05/2013
Sent ROC package to VSC: 11/16/2012
NOA1: 11/20/2012

Approval: 04/29/2013!!!!

AandB, I found out Dallas is at full capacity for Biometrics. So we all have to wait until there are openings. Our NOA date is July 2nd so we have been waiting 2 months.

My husband just called and we have our interview date on October 4! I can hardly believe it! The letter was mailed out on 8/26/10 but there was no update on the USCIS website. It is basically 2 months from our NOA1 date to our Green Card Interview!

I got my AP approval today in mail. The online case status showed no touches for AP.

I also got my interview letter scheduled for Oct 1st.
