Received my NOA1's yesterday for the AOS and EAD. I didn't apply for AP, pure laziness and dislike for paperwork on my part. I also do not think I'll be leaving the country any time soon! Glad the ball is rolling :)

Congrats on your NOA1. I sent my package the same time with you, and Im still waiting.

Lots of biometrics appointment letters were received today, congrats to y'all! Hope i can get mine too this week!

I am jealous but also happy for everyone who has gotten their biometrics appointment. I am still waiting for my husbands. I am getting anxious I hope it gets here soon. I have been checking the mail everyday and each day I walk away disappointed. I guess all we can do is wait :(

uhh actually, don't worry just yet - it takes most people just about 7-10 days to receive their first 'sign' that the application was received/worked on etc.

it'll all work out

Anybody got any experience with walk-ins in Seattle?? Wonder if I should just go - need EAD - stat. :hehe:

We went to Su's biometrics in late July on our scheduled date at the Seattle office. The guard gave us a number, but when we got into the lobby they told everyone not to wait for their number to be called if they were there just for the biometrics. Just go to the window after you've filled out the paperwork. It seemed pretty relaxed. If you've got the time, and don't mind making a second trip, just in case, I'd go for it.

Thanks! That was very helpful.

I'm not completely convinced that it actually makes anything go quicker, for some people it seems like it does. For other people it seems to make no difference. But it definitely doesn't hurt to try :)

Just got back from my local ASC, thought I would attempt a walk in for biometrics, as its only 10 miles away from me.

They let me in, no problems, was barely anyone there anyway  I was in and out within 40 minutes, mainly just waiting for the others ahead of me, the actual biometrics was only 5 mins.

I dont know if it will make this any quicker or not, but its another thing done and out the way.

Just called USCIS. I spoke with a representative and they told me that my file is not in their system yet. What is going on? I spoke with a rude officer, and when I requested to speak with a supervisor, he refused to transfer me to one. What should I do?

The average time listed under VJ is 10 days from receiving, some more, some less. All USCIS will do is tell you to wait 30 days...literally.

Another question: Is it possible to check the status of your case on the uscis website without an NOA 1?
